Riverfire is one of Brisbane’s biggest nights, and last night our transport team really stepped-up. 🚌💙

We threw everything at getting people home safely, with Brisbane Metro doing plenty of the heavy lifting, extra services running throughout the night and shuttles continuing long after the last firework.

It took months of planning, but it was our people behind the wheel and on the ground who made it happen.

And they don’t just do it on the big nights. Every day, our operators help hundreds of thousands of people get where they need to go.

A massive thank you to the team who kept Brisbane moving last night and every day. 💙

🇦🇺 For 125 years, our flag has been there for the moments that have shaped our country.

Through service and sacrifice, moments of celebration, sporting triumphs and milestones that have brought us together.

It’s been carried, raised and waved with pride by generations of Australians, each with their own story and their own connection to our country.

This Thursday on Australian National Flag Day, we mark 125 years since our flag was first flown and celebrate all the stories that have unfolded beneath it.

Rochedale is growing fast and we’re building the roads to keep it moving.

A brand-new four-lane connection is coming to Gardner Road, linking Priestdale and Underwood roads.

What’s coming 👇
🚦 700m of new road + two signalised intersections with pedestrian crossings
🌿 A new bridge over the Bulimba Creek East Tributary
🚲 2.5km of on-road bike lanes
🚶 1.1km of shared paths + 700m of new footpaths shared paths and footpaths

It’ll mean another way to get to school, work, shops and public transport, while easing pressure on surrounding roads.

🏡 And it’ll help unlock hundreds of new homes.

Riverfire is one of Brisbane’s biggest nights of the year and unions shouldn’t mess with it.

A 24-hour CityCat and ferry strike has been called for this Saturday, potentially disrupting thousands of people trying to enjoy a great Brisbane community tradition.

While sorting out the pay agreement is a matter for River City Ferries, who are contracted to operate our CityCats, and their employees, the union’s decision to disrupt Riverfire won’t win community support.

Our message is simple: don't mess with Riverfire and call off the strike.

In the meantime, we’re getting on with the job of helping everyone get home safely, with a massive boost to bus services, including more Metros and suburban shuttles.

Check TransLink before you head in, plan your trip and come enjoy one of Brisbane’s best nights of the year. 🎇

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Sadie and her mum, Gail, to City Hall, where they shared Sadie’s story and helped shine a light on Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).

DLD affects how a person understands and uses language. It is one of the most common childhood conditions, yet also one of the least understood, making conversations like todays especially important.

In support of DLD awareness, next month the Story Bridge will be lit up in purple in honour of Sadie and to help highlight this important cause.

Sadie and Gail also joined us to spread the word about “X Marks the Spot,” a DLD treasure hunt taking place in Brisbane on Friday 16 October, raising funds and awareness for DLD Day.
