Brisbane, the Socceroos are back and so are we. 🟒🟑

We're putting the Socceroos on the big screen with our very own World Cup live site at South Bank Cultural Forecourt, from Sunday 14 June. Free entry, great atmosphere and the whole city cheering them on together.

Good news for everyone who's done their dash on 3am kickoffs: our first game against TΓΌrkiye is on a Sunday afternoon. Sun's up, no alarm, no falling asleep before half time.

Bring the family, bring your mates, bring the one who still tears up about 2006.

50 years of the orange army 🧑

Today we marked the 50th anniversary of Queensland SES with a parade through the Brisbane CBD, and what a turnout it was.

For half a century SES volunteers have been there for Queensland through every storm flood cyclone and emergency in between. From the 1974 floods that helped create the SES to Cyclone Alfred last year - when the call has gone out they have answered every single time.

Tens of thousands of volunteers, millions of hours given and whole communities looked after by people who put their hands up for no other reason than to help.

To every SES volunteer past and present, thank you. Brisbane and Queensland are safer because of you.

QLD Day done the Brisbane way 🌞

What a ripper morning at Melrose Park in Kalinga. A massive thank you to everyone who came down, and to Cr Julia Dixon - Hamilton Ward and Tim Nicholls MP for putting on such a great morning for the community.

Sausage sizzle on the go, face paint everywhere, kids running riot on the jumping castle and a chance to chat with the local heroes from Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Police who look after us every day.

This is what makes Queensland the best place to call home πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

You could feel the energy from a mile away. πŸ”₯

Brisbane's African community knows how to throw a festival and the Africa Day Festival was proof of that.

People from all across Brisbane, incredible culture and so much to take in.

Brisbane doesn't get much better than this.

Good parks should be easy for everyone to enjoy - and Hickey Park is about to be one of them.

We're upgrading this much-loved local spot with a brand-new playground in a better location new pathways and a shade structure to make the space safer more accessible and more comfortable for families.

This is what local government should be doing, creating parks that genuinely work for the communities around them.

Locals will be able to enjoy the finished result in the coming weeks.

Brisbane’s bushland and suburbs are too beautiful to be treated as a skip bin. 🌿

Some people think they can leave an old mattress on the roadside or dump a fridge in our beautiful bush land where it doesn't belong. Not on our watch.

With 200+ cameras, $525,000 in fines and a 235% increase in offenders being identified, illegal dumpers are getting caught.

Had to ask the real question πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸšŒ

I caught up with Brenton Thwaites ahead of tonight's premiere of Two Years Later, Paramount+'s new series filmed right here in Brisbane.

The whole show kicks off with two strangers flirting on a Brisbane bus. So naturally I had to ask if he had ever done it himself.

Turns out it's more relatable than we thought πŸ‘€

First episode streams tonight on Paramount+. I know what I'll be watching.
