A huge thank you to the wonderful Echidna Sewing team for their incredibly generous donation of a brand-new sewing machine to CHAA💜

The sewing machine will be used for our new and exciting upcoming sewing group with women from our EmpowerHER group and Bint Al Neel. This donation will help to bring women together in a safe environment to learn new skills and confidence, and develop supportive friendships.

We are so grateful for the kindness shown by this local business and for the support from our community for CHAA💛 We are always looking for quality items which can be used by CHAA groups to support people coming together and engaging in craft, arts and skills development, so please reach out if you want to help. Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day! 💛
Today, we celebrate the incredible educators who make up our My Place Family Day Care community and the important role they play in the lives of children and families every day. 🏡

Our educators open not only their homes, but also their hearts and minds, creating nurturing environments where children feel safe, valued, and supported. They comfort tears, celebrate milestones, encourage curiosity, inspire learning, and help build the foundations for a bright future. 💛

This year’s theme, “The Future Starts With Us!”, couldn’t be more fitting. Every story shared, every question answered, every cuddle given, and every achievement celebrated helps shape a child’s confidence, development, and future. ⭐

To our amazing My Place Family Day Care educators, thank you for the care, dedication, patience, creativity, and passion you bring every day. The difference you make, both big and small, has a lasting impact on the children and families you support. 🌱
We are so grateful to have you as part of the My Place family. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Choosing care for your child is a big decision, and it's natural to have questions. One of the questions we hear most often is, "What qualifications does my Family Day Care Educator have?"

All My Place Family Day Care Educators hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care as a minimum. They also maintain current training in:
✔️ First Aid
✔️ CPR
✔️ Anaphylaxis management
✔️ Asthma management

Our educators participate in ongoing professional development, ensuring they continue to build their skills and stay up to date with best practice in early childhood education and care. It's all part of our commitment to providing safe, high-quality care where children can learn, grow and thrive.

This week, Bec and Haley had the privilege of attending Parliament House to accept a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of Inala Community House.
The award recognises Inala Community House's significant contribution to Queensland’s multicultural community, a tribute to the work that we do in aiming to build stronger, more inclusive and connected communities.

This award would not have been possible without the dedicated team members and volunteers whose compassion and commitment create environments where people from diverse cultural backgrounds feel welcomed, respected and supported. The work that they do is felt throughout our community every day, and we are grateful to walk alongside a team whose passion mirrors our efforts to create spaces where multiculturalism can thrive.

We are honoured to receive this award and its recognition of the strong community and partner relationships we have built over the years 💛

A new chapter for the CHAA HUB!

Following the completion of the two-year CHAA Pilot, we’re pleased to be reforming the CHAA HUB and continuing its important work supporting people impacted by domestic and family violence. The HUB brings together valuable expertise to help guide CHAA and support our group facilitators and Natural Helpers through training, education and coaching, strengthening their ability to safely and confidently support others in the community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the HUB throughout the pilot, and to SSI, BRISSC, Support Groups Queensland, Family Peace Building (Multicultural Australia, Souths Community HUB and RAILS) and 4 Voices for their continued support. We’re also pleased to welcome back Mary, Marian and Peter, who were part of the Inala Community House team when CHAA was first established, and welcome Hayley, who brings valuable experience and a service integration perspective. We look forward to continuing to strengthen the support available within our community. 🩵

Inclusive Foster and Kinship Care was proud to send staff and five carer households to the National Foster and Kinship Care Conference on the Sunshine Coast.

It was an inspiring few days of learning, networking, and idea-sharing with carers and professionals from across Queensland. Our team took part in three workshop sessions, gaining valuable knowledge and practical strategies to strengthen the support we provide to children, young people, and carers.

The conference opened with a powerful, uplifting keynote from Keneti, and we were deeply moved by Brooke Hanson's story of resilience and overcoming adversity, a reminder of the impact that hope, perseverance, and supportive relationships can have.

Finally, congratulations to Queensland Foster and Kinship Care on 50 years of supporting foster and kinship carers across Queensland. What an incredible milestone, and a testament to five decades of advocacy, dedication, and commitment to improving the lives of children and families. We're proud to be part of this community and look forward to continuing the work together 💜
