Today is Are You Safe at Home Day. It’s an opportunity to ask someone in your life, ‘are you safe at home?’

Rose and Tara from Mitchell Shire Council joined Northern Community Legal Centre and Victoria Police at
rAKa’s café in Wellington Square to start conversations around supporting people experiencing family violence with a free coffee.

If you’re worried someone you know might be experiencing family violence, it can be hard to know what to do. But you don’t need to be an expert. By just asking, listening and believing, you can make a huge difference.

Visit www.areyousafeathome.org.au for helpful tips, conversation starters and ways to access support.

Join our FREE webinar on April 23rd, 2026!

Eating disorders and other shadowy companions are hard to live with. It is often difficult to communicate the experience and explain it to others who can struggle to listen because it’s hard to hear.

In this interactive and celebratory webinar 5 years after the original launch was cancelled due to COVID, we explore creative ways to use cards to challenge the silence and shame surrounding eating disorders and gently suggest ways forward - guided by Danni McDougall, author of Eating Disorders & Other Shadowy Companions.
