44 calls for Terramungamine Brigade in 2025

These calls ranged from smoke in vicinity, Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA), structure, bush and grass fires.

2025 saw the first Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating in NSW for two years, the Garlings Trail Goonoo fire and the Emergency Warning Dunedoo Rd Fire. The 44 calls doesn't take in the number of shifts members of Terramungamine pulled for the Goonoo and Dunedoo Rd Fires which are essential for ensuring containment of these fires.

It also saw Terramungamine escorting Santa around Brocklehurst before Christmas and hopefully will be something that continues.

We'd like to extend a thank you to our members for their time, commitment and efforts. Not to mention the families that support our members.

If you have somewhere particular youd like us to stop or keep and eye out for, please comment the street below or send our page a message.

Otherwise we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow

🔥 KNOW YOUR RISK 🔥

Being prepared for a fire isn’t just preparing your home or property but knowing your risk and making informed decisions, even before a fire has started!

With the weather warming up, now is a great time to to familiarise yourself with the Fire Danger Ratings (FDR)!

These ratings are determined by:
☀️ 🌧️ 💨 The weather: temperature, humidity and wind speed
🌳 🌾🍂🪵 The type of vegetation local to the area and how dry this vegetation is (how cured it is).

Modeling is then used to determine how a fire would behave if a fire starts under the conditions. The higher the Fire Danger Ratings, the more dangerous the conditions will be if a fire starts.

You can check the Fire Danger Ratings on the NSW Rural Fire Service website or on your Hazards Near Me App!
