🖤💛❤️ NAIDOC WEEK AT STURT PARK 🖤💛❤️
Yesterday, St John Ambulance (NSW) - Broken Hill Division had the pleasure of attending the NAIDOC Week event at Sturt Park.
It was a glorious day, with plenty of things to listen to, learn from and engage with. The turnout was wonderful and the vibe was on point as people from across our community came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week. 🖤💛❤️
It was particularly special to have some of our young cadet members involved in the day.
Being part of community celebrations like this provides a valuable and nurturing opportunity for our cadets to connect with others, listen, learn and develop a greater understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture, history and community.
These experiences are an important part of their development. Alongside learning first aid and other practical skills, we want our young members to grow in confidence, respect and community spirit, and there’s no better way to do that than by being involved in the community around them.
Our volunteers and cadets loved meeting everyone who spoke with us on the day, answering questions and having a chat about St John Ambulance NSW.
A big thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us, and to everyone involved in bringing such a wonderful community celebration together. 🖤💛❤️
