Our CEO Licia Heath spoke with Women's Agenda yesterday, discussing how Covid 19 is cementing many women’s determination to run for political office.

“Women are mobilizing in Australia,” she said. “I have emails from women all over Australia who want to do something. When we had our inaugural WFEA conference in 2017, we were still trying to fill seats a day before. Now we’re selling out, and we have reserve lists.”

Women across the political spectrum are reaching out in unprecedented numbers, driven by issues specific to their local electorate, as well as national policy-based issues - particularly those highlighted by the pandemic.

If you’re interested in taking part in one of our upcoming Equip courses, which give women the tools to run for office, sign up for our e-news at wfea.org.au
