This term, our Year 1 and 2 students have been learning about community helpers and the important roles they play in our community. Students explored different occupations by trying on uniforms, identifying tools used in various jobs, and creating their own equipment during Literacy, STEM, and Art sessions. We also enjoyed a whole-school incursion with St John Ambulance, where students learned about DRSABCD and when to call 000. It has been a fun, engaging, and valuable learning experience for everyone in ES4!

I am reaching out to let you know that DDWA is running an online session of our Approaching Adulthood workshop.

This workshop is designed for families of young people with intellectual and developmental disability aged 14 to 18 years who want to better understand the changes that come with moving towards adulthood, including Centrelink, NDIS and Medicare requirements.

We guide attendees through the key steps to take before their child turns 16, explain what changes as they get older, and share practical information that many families tell us they wish they had known sooner.

We know that families living regionally can face additional barriers to accessing information and support. By delivering this workshop online, we hope to make it easier for families across Western Australia to access reliable information, ask questions, and start planning for the future.

Perth Convoy is a free family festival bringing the community together for a fun-filled day while raising vital funds for Camp Quality and supporting kids and families facing cancer.
On the day, a huge convoy of trucks will make its way to Perth Motorplex, followed by our family festival from 10am–2pm. There’ll be food vans, kids’ rides, face painting, roving entertainment and plenty more for families to enjoy.

A big morning for our Year 5 and 6 students, and their parents. Off to Camp for two nights. The students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities that provide experience to further develop their skills in problem solving, social skills and promote independence. Some of the activities include the commando course, slip n slip, archery and more.
