Apologies for the late notice but the weather is in our favour, for a change, and this afternoon from 1800 and tomorrow morning we will be conducting a fuel reduction exercise on the western side of George bass Rd adjacent train street. You may see our flashing lights and possibly smell a little smoke however, there is NO THREAT TO THE COMMUNITY. Have a great weekend all😁

Last Thursday, your Broulee Rural Fire Brigade were invited to the Broulee Early Learning Centre to show off our fire appliances and give the kids a go at being a firefighter. The aim was to show that it doesn’t need to be scary if emergency services turn up as we are here to help. It was so much fun and we really appreciated the invitation.

On Wednesday afternoon, a grass fire broke out near the Tomakin lookout. Broulee crewed all four fire appliances and after some good work with Mogo, Malua Bay, Surf Beach and Batemans Bay Rural Fire Brigades, the fire was extinguished that evening. It’s a timely reminder that bush fire season is upon us and we encourage all community members to prepare their properties and plan their actions in the event of a bush fire. This occurred at the Trivia Night each Wednesday and the Locals Night each Thursday, which are terrific events. The brigade really appreciates the support of local businesses. Today, six Local Government Areas (LGA) commence their Bush Fire Danger Period.

Residents and land holders should ensure they understand the rules around the use of fire. Along with required fire permits, you must also notify your local fire authority and neighbours of your intent to burn at least 24 hours in advance.
