Here is how you can help your grieving friend-Share this with them!
Most grieving people are surrounded by people and still feel completely alone.
Not because people don’t care... but because grief brings along with it feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Then the support often fades long before the grief does. People stop asking how you are. Conversations become surface level. And many grieving people quickly learn that being honest about how hard this really is can make other people uncomfortable.
So they stop talking about it. Or say they are OK when they are not.
Not because they are coping, but because they are tired of feeling misunderstood.
That silence is one of the biggest gaps in grief support.
Because grief was never meant to be carried alone while trying to pretend you are okay.
That is exactly why I created the Grief Connect Community.
This is not just a place where people post about grief and wait for replies. It is an active, ongoing community where people living with loss are connecting in real conversations, receiving ongoing support from others who genuinely understand grief, and accessing professionally guided conversations that help them better understand and navigate the realities of life after loss.
Every fortnight inside the Grief Connect Community, I guide two live online sessions designed to provide both grief education and honest peer connection.
Session 1 - 'What Grief Really Feels Like' helps people better understand the emotional and physical impact grief has on them day to day. These conversations give language to experiences many people struggle to explain, while helping people feel less alone in what they are carrying.
Session 2 - 'Nothing Is Off Limits' is a space for honest conversations about the realities of grief that people often feel they cannot say out loud. The anger, exhaustion, loneliness, resentment, identity changes, relationship struggles, parenting pressures, social disconnection and everything in between.
These live sessions can be accessed from your phone, tablet, iPad or computer, from the comfort of your own home or any quiet private space where you feel comfortable to join in, listen, speak, or simply sit alongside people who genuinely understand this life.
This is exactly why the Grief Connect Community exists.
A space where grief is understood, support is ongoing, and people no longer have to navigate loss in isolation. It's a space where grieving people find a sense of connection, of hope, and of future.
