🌸 International Women’s Day – Brunswick Junction VFRS 🌸
Today we proudly recognise and celebrate the incredible women who serve, support and strengthen our brigade and our community.
At Brunswick Junction Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service, our female firefighters stand shoulder to shoulder with their crews — responding to road crash rescues, structural fires, bushfires and emergency incidents with professionalism, courage and commitment.
They are leaders, mentors, operators, drivers, BA wearers, rescue technicians, and community role models. They train hard, serve selflessly, and represent the very best of what volunteering is about.

Emergency services are stronger because of the diversity, skill and resilience women bring to the job — and we are proud to have them as part of our team.
To the women in our brigade, across DFES, and throughout emergency services everywhere — thank you for your dedication and service.

🚫🔥 TOTAL FIRE BAN 🚫🔥
& HARVEST & VEHICLE MOVEMENT BAN 🔥🚫

The Shire of Harvey is under a Total Fire Ban and a Harvest & Vehicle Movement Ban today.

This means:
❌ No lighting or using any fires in the open air
❌ No grinding, welding, or other spark-producing work outdoors
❌ No harvesting or vehicle movement in paddocks

These restrictions are in place to keep our community safe and reduce the risk of bushfires spreading.

Please take care, stay alert, and report any smoke or fire immediately to 000.

Thank you to all of the amazing community members for always making our annual Santa Run something to look forward too.
We do see some nasty things during the year but it's these moments that make it all worth while.

Huge shout out to Roelands Olive Hill Bush Fire Brigade and St John WA - Brunswick for joining us, was awesome to see the convoy cruising up the road.

To Santa and his Elves, bet you are fuming its a work night but have fun :)

And to our amazing volunteers that give up their time to make these events possible, A massive thank you.

Please everybody, look after each other this Christmas and stay safe.

🎶 Just hear those Sleigh bells jingl.... 🎶 hmmm

Due to Santa's reindeer being busy in the shop getting their pre flight servicing and checks completed before the busy night.
Santa has asked us if we would be happy to drive him and his elves around town to hand out "nutritional" goodies to the kids (and adults) this Christmas Eve.

This year, Brunswick Junction Volunteer Fire and Rescue will be joined by our friends/elves in green over at St John WA - Brunswick 🚑
As well as our smokier mates over at Roelands Olive Hill Bush Fire Brigade 🚒

Christmas Eve 24th December
Roelands - 1600hrs
Brunswick - 1700hrs - Town siren will be sounded at the start

🎶 🎅 Make sure you listen out for the music, sirens and all the Ho Ho Ho's 🔥 🚒

Remember, please do not run out onto the road to get the stray lollies

Although its a work night for Santa and hes not allowed to drink, the Firies might like one or two after the run ;)
If you are going to approach the fire appliance, please make sure we have seen you and the truck has come to a stop before approaching

In the coming days we will post the lolly run route and we will keep the community page updated with Santa's location :)
