Whilst being posted to Western Australia, there are lots of resources to assist you in your transition. Please reach out if you need assistance with anything and we will endeavor to point you in the right direction. Today I visited the One tree Defence Childcare unit, they have a fantastic calm and cosy atmosphere. We are here to help you so please just contact us and we can see how we can help you. We have career coaches who can assist you finding employment and one has a free master class next week. (For more info contact www.jomacdonaldcareer.com) we can offer local knowledge and experience from others in the group who have posted in and shortly be posting out. The unknown is always daunting but hopefully with our helping hands it can make it easier for you all.

“I served in the Royal Australian Navy and after a series of traumas suffered PTSD which went undiagnosed for many decades” – Andy, Navy veteran

“A big part of my recovery has been with the Veteran Surf Project, so I’m riding solo around Australia to raise awareness and funds for the program.”

The Veteran Surf Project aims to help veterans and first responders with PTSD through surf therapy and other activities, while raising awareness and provide support for those affected by it.

To follow Andy’s trek around Australia or to get behind this good cause, visit http://spr.ly/6180PrW4j

If you, or someone you know, needs support, we’re available 24/7.

If you have served one day in the ADF, or are the immediate family of a veteran, we offer 24/7 free & confidential mental health support.
