Vale Tresslyn Smith π
Today, we join the Bunbury community in mourning the passing of our much loved Deputy Chairperson, Tresslyn Smith.
Since joining the Aqwest Board in 2018, Tresslyn provided dedicated leadership and thoughtful guidance, serving as Deputy Chairperson and as a valued member of the Audit & Risk Committee.
Tresslyn's passion for public service centred on ensuring the Bunbury community had access to high-quality drinking water at a reasonable cost, while protecting water resources for future generations. She was a strong advocate for maintaining a locally managed water service, championed water conservation initiatives and recognised the importance of securing long-term water supplies. Tresslyn also placed a high priority on raising awareness of environmental factors, including the impacts of climate change on rainfall patterns and rising sea levels.
Beyond Aqwest, Tresslyn's commitment to serving others touched countless organisations and community groups throughout the South West. Her wisdom, kindness and unwavering dedication made a lasting impact on our organisation and the wider community.
Our thoughts are with Tresslyn's family, friends and loved ones at this difficult time. We also remember her late husband, David Smith OAM, a former Aqwest Board Director and dedicated community leader, who passed away earlier this year. Their combined contribution to Aqwest and the Bunbury community leaves a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten.
We are grateful for Tresslyn's service and honoured to have called her a colleague and friend π
