You're invited to a special author talk with Lorraine Carlson, who will share the inspiration behind her book. 'Lamorna' traces a family history spanning continents and generations, and the walls of what is now known as the King Cottage Museum.
📆 Saturday 30 May
⏰10.30am - 11.30am
📍Bunbury Public Library – Parkfield Street, Bunbury

Join a heartwarming and fascinating journey into local history, family heritage, and the stories that shaped one of Bunbury’s most cherished homes.
During the talk, Lorraine will share stories of:
• The King family - early settlers who travelled from England to Western Australia.
• Henry King - the brickmaker who built the original home at 77 Forrest Avenue, South Bunbury.
• The Carlson family - who purchased the home in 1923 for their sons’ schooling.
• Generations of families - gold prospectors, builders, politicians, surveyors, pioneer pastoralists, graziers, and modern descendants—whose lives all intertwined with Lamorna.
