Bundaberg State High School

Bundaberg State High School Welcome to the official Bundaberg State High School page. They also provide a framework for the students as they move into the world beyond the school.

On this site you will be kept up to date with what is happening around our school as well as receiving updates and reminders. Bundaberg State High School is one of the oldest state high schools in Queensland, having opened its doors in 1912 on the banks of the Burnett River. The school’s motto is 'per ardua ad astra', which loosely translates as 'through hard work, the stars', and this set of values informs the expectations of all who work and study here.

Lunch with a Vietnam Vet!

Today our school leaders interviewed ex-Vietnam Veterans about their perceptions of Australia's involvement in the conflict as part of their entries into the 2nd Annual RSL History Speech Competition. Their profound insights into conflict were equally matched by their warm candour with our students. We appreciate their time to impart wisdom.

Listen and Respond - The Resilience Project

This fortnight’s focus is about more than simply following instructions. It’s about building a school culture where students and staff feel heard, respected and valued.

Listening actively, responding respectfully and being present in conversations all help strengthen positive relationships across our school community.
