Sometimes the biggest difference starts with simply being there 💙💚

During National Chaplaincy Week, we thank the dedicated school chaplains supporting students, families and school communities across Hinkler and Australia.

I have proudly supported the chaplaincy program locally in Hinkler for more than 15 years, including serving as Chair of the local Chaplaincy Committee since 2021.

School chaplains provide mentorship, encouragement and a listening ear for young people when they need it most.

Thank you to all our local chaplains for the important work you do every day.

A beautiful start to the weekend at the Urangan Markets at the Pier.

Thanks to everyone who dropped by to say g’day and to David Lee MP for having me along.

🌙 Great to attend the Chamber at Dusk – Dinner, Networking & Inspiration event with Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce.

An engaging discussion, Q and A and we even started the night learning a few pilates moves from Mindy Barefoot Pilates Studio Hervey Bay.

🌅 It’s been a beautiful night in the Bay.

I’ll be at the Urangan Markets at the Pier from 8am tomorrow.

Phone calls and emails have been coming in thick and fast to my electorate offices in Hervey Bay and Bundaberg - every single day since May 12 when Labor delivered the budget of broken promises.

I've just told Parliament that Hinkler doesn't want carve outs to Labor’s toxic taxes - they want them axed.

Today marks the beginning of National Reconciliation Week 2026.

This years theme for National Reconciliation Week is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

⚡ Faster, more reliable internet is coming to more parts of Bundaberg, helping local businesses, community groups and households get future ready.

You may have noticed nbn crews working across parts of Bundaberg, and it’s all about preparing our community for the future.

This preparation work means eligible homes and businesses will be able to upgrade more easily to full fibre via nbn Fibre to the Premises through their preferred internet provider. By completing this work upfront, it also helps reduce repeated construction and minimises disruption to local streets, footpaths and businesses.

For local businesses and community organisations, improved broadband can help support online services, remote and flexible work, customer engagement, cloud-based systems and digital growth opportunities.

📍 Want to learn more?
The nbn team will be at the Bundaberg Show from 27–29 May to answer questions and provide information about future connectivity options for businesses and organisations.

You can also check what nbn connection is available at your address here: ⬇⬇⬇

The Nationals have introduced legislation today to protect women’s rights.

My Nationals colleague Alison Penfold MP for Lyne introduced a bill this morning to define a biological female into the S*x Discrimination Act. This bill won't take the rights away from anyone, but it will let women protect their own spaces, sports and activities. It would stop us getting ridiculous court decisions like we saw in the Tickle v Giggle case.

The Nationals will always defend women's rights.
