Our Reef Guardians made a massive splash at Oceanfest 2026! 🌊📖✨

Last year’s Bundaberg South State School Reef Guardian book was blown up into giant A3 format, and the wonderful ladies at Oceanfest were reading it aloud to festival goers every single hour.

Seeing the crowd's reaction and hearing how much the Oceanfest team adored the story shows just how far this little project has come. It is incredible to see our students' hard work and passion for reef conservation celebrated on such a big community stage.

The adventure doesn't stop here, our Reef Guardians are already working on the next chapter, with a brand-new book on the way this year. Stay tuned! 🐠🐢💙

MATHS TEAM CHALLENGE WINNERS!

Yesterday, a selected group of our Year 6 students proudly represented Bundaberg South State School at the Maths Team Challenge.

We are incredibly excited to announce that, for the second year running, Bundaberg South State School came away as the WINNERS of the ‘C’ School Division!

A huge congratulations to all of the students who participated. You worked wonderfully as a team, challenged yourselves and represented both yourselves and our school with pride.

What a fantastic achievement – back-to-back winners!

REMINDER – OSHC SURVEY CLOSES TOMORROW AT 9:00 AM

We are asking all Bundaberg South State School families who have not yet completed the Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) survey to please take a few minutes to do so before it closes at 9:00 am tomorrow, Thursday 3 September.

Having an OSHC service located at our school would be a major asset for our students and families, providing convenient before and/or after school care for those who need it.

However, in order for an OSHC service at Bundaberg South State School to be considered viable, we need to hear from our families. Your responses are extremely important in demonstrating the genuine level of demand for this service within our school community.

⭐ In particular, if your family would be looking for a permanent or regular OSHC booking, please make sure you complete the survey. We need your voice and your feedback to help demonstrate that there is sufficient ongoing demand for this service.

Even if you would only use OSHC on certain days or occasionally, we still encourage you to complete the survey and let us know.

REMINDER – STUDENT FREE DAY THIS FRIDAY

A friendly reminder to all Bundaberg South State School families that this Friday, 4 September, is a Student Free Day.

There will be no classes for students on Friday.

We hope all of our students enjoy their extra-long weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday, 7 September refreshed and ready for another great week!

Our Father’s Day Stall is open TODAY and TOMORROW – Wednesday 2nd & Thursday 3rd September!

Students will have the opportunity to choose something special for Dad, Grandad or another important person in their life. 🧢☕🧰

💰 Gifts range from just $1 to $7, with plenty of great options to choose from.
