🌿 Specialist Day – Secondary Students 🌱

We warmly invite our Secondary parents and carers to join their child for a special Parents Day Specialist Day in Week 9! 💚

📅 Tuesday 8 September – Week 9
👩‍🎓 Secondary Students

Parents and carers can join us for either a morning or afternoon session: check invite for your child's group

🌞 Morning Group: 10:00am – 11:00am
🌿 Afternoon Group: 12:15pm – 1:15pm

📍 Meet in the undercover area after signing in through the school office.

Come along and enjoy hands-on activities with your child, including:

🍳 Tour our new kitchen
🥪 Help prepare afternoon tea
🌿 Explore our garden and outdoor learning area
🌱 Participate in weeding, seed planting and seedling planting
🫐 Pick some delicious mulberries
🪱 Check and help maintain our worm farms
☕ Stay and enjoy morning/afternoon tea together

It’s a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your child, see what they are learning and get involved in practical, hands-on activities.

💙 Happy Father’s Day from the Bundaberg Special School Community! 💙

Today we celebrate and appreciate all the wonderful fathers and father figures in our school community. 🌟

To dads, stepdads, grandfathers, foster dads, adoptive dads, father figures, and those who fill a special dad role — thank you for the love, care, guidance and support you give every day.

We also recognise that Father’s Day can be a difficult day for some. We are thinking of those who have lost their dads, those who are missing someone special, and those whose family circumstances are different.

Wishing everyone in our Bundaberg Special School community a very happy Father’s Day! 💙

Congratulations to Summah, our Week 8 Communicator of the Week! 🏆💬

This term, our Secondary students are learning about places in our local area as part of their Geography unit. 🗺️🌏

Summah used her communication device to confidently share about the places she had visited over the weekend. What a fantastic way to use her communication skills to connect her learning with her own experiences! 👏💕

📚 Indigenous Literacy Day – Great Book Swap 📚

Tomorrow, Wednesday 2 September 2026, we are celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day with our Great Book Swap! ❤️💛🖤

📖 Every student will receive a donated book to take home and add to their very own book collection.

This year, we are raising funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, helping provide books and literacy resources to children living in remote Indigenous communities across Australia.

💰 A gold coin donation would be greatly appreciated.

📱 Donations can also be made online by scanning the QR code.
