On the 5th of June, our Junior Music students and selected band students attended an exciting excursion with Mrs Tanner, Ms Hsu and Miss Roos 📸🎶 to see the Queensland Symphony Orchestra perform Peter and the Wolf by S. Prokofiev.

It was a wonderful interactive concert experience 🎵 giving students the opportunity to learn about the different instrumental families and hear the unique sounds produced by a professional orchestra. The performance was engaging and highly informative, with an animated narrator bringing the story of Peter and the Wolf to life 📖✨. Props and toys were also used to enhance the storytelling and keep the audience captivated throughout 🎭🧸.

For many of our students, this was their first time experiencing the Queensland Symphony Orchestra live, making it a truly memorable and inspiring musical experience for everyone involved 🌟🎻📸

🎨✨ Colour is bringing creativity to life in Year 7 Visual Art!

Our talented students are now adding vibrant colour to their final still life artworks, transforming their ideas into eye-catching masterpieces. 🌈🖌️

Throughout this unit, students have explored recontextualisation—taking everyday objects and presenting them in fresh, imaginative ways. Using photographs they created themselves, students experimented with lighting, colour, backgrounds and composition to develop unique reference images for their final works.

These progress shots capture students carefully building layers of colour, refining details, and making creative choices that turn the ordinary into something extraordinary. We can’t wait to see the finished artworks! 👏🎨✨

🏆🎉 ROUND 2 OF OUR QUEENSLAND DAY CELEBRATIONS! 🎉🏆

The competition heated up today as students battled it out in our epic Handball Competition! 🔥🙌

After plenty of rallies, close calls, and some seriously impressive handball skills, a huge congratulations goes to our champions:

Who knew a little square on the ground could bring out so much competitive spirit? 😅

Today, students and staff at Bundamba State Secondary College enjoyed some tasty treats, great company, and plenty of Queensland spirit as we celebrated everything that makes our great state special.

From our beautiful beaches to our country towns, and from our sporting pride to our strong communities, we're proud to call Queensland home. 🤠🌴🏉

🎉👏 Congratulations to Our Future Apprentices! 👏🎉

We are proud to congratulate two of our students Riley Stone and Vincent Whyte, on successfully securing apprenticeships as they begin the next exciting chapter of their careers.

This achievement reflects their hard work, commitment, and determination, and we commend them for taking this important step toward their future goals.

We wish both students every success as they develop new skills, gain valuable industry experience, and embark on their chosen career pathways. We have no doubt they will be wonderful ambassadors for our school and make the most of this fantastic opportunity.

🎉 100 Days to Go! 🎉

Our Year 12 students celebrated the milestone of just 100 days remaining in their schooling journey with a picnic on the oval.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to take a break from their busy schedules, spend time together, reflect on how far they have come, and enjoy each other’s company as a cohort.

As the countdown to graduation continues, we look forward to supporting our Year 12 students through their final months of school and celebrating many more milestones along the way.

✈️🚀 Year 10 Students Launch into the Future! 🚀✈️

Our Year 10 students recently traded the classroom for the exciting world of aerospace and advanced manufacturing at Launchpad 2027 in Toowoomba! 🌟

From plotting coordinates and exploring virtual reality flight experiences to participating in hands-on workshops, students had the opportunity to discover what a future career in aviation and manufacturing could look like. 🛩️🎮🔧

The day also featured industry panel discussions where students heard directly from professionals working in the field, gaining valuable insights into career pathways in aircraft maintenance, manufacturing and aerospace systems. 👨‍✈️👩‍🔧✨

One of the highlights was learning about the exciting future of aerospace right here in Queensland, including the Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat project, which will be built at the new Wellcamp facility from 2027. 🤖✈️

The experience helped students see how the subjects they study today could lead to exciting careers tomorrow, connecting classroom learning with real-world opportunities in Queensland's growing defence and aerospace industries. 🌏🚀

Who knows? We may have future aerospace engineers, aircraft technicians and aviation specialists sitting in our classrooms right now! 🌟
