Today Bundanoon 242 crew responded to a house fire in William Street, with fire burning in the roof space near the chimney.

Joined by our friends from Moss Vale Fire & Rescue Station 385 and RFS crews from Bundy and Wingello, we extinguished the flames by pulling down internal ceilings and drenching the roof space.

A close call, but a good outcome in the end. Great teamwork all round! 🔥🚒

Happening TODAY. Drop your “problem waste” at Bundy Oval today between 12:30 and 3:15pm. You can drop things like:

It’ll make our job as firefighters much easier if you dispose of these things responsibly! 🙏🏽

Got some tricky household items taking up space? ♻️

Our Mobile Community Recycling Centre is back this August, making it easy to safely recycle items that don't belong in your household bins, including fire extinguishers, batteries, motor oil, fluorescent globes, cardboard, gas bottles, paint, polystyrene, mobile phones, smoke detectors and soft plastics.

5 AUGUST – Exeter & Bundanoon
12 AUGUST – Hill Top & Mittagong
19 AUGUST – Robertson & Burrawang
26 AUGUST – Penrose & Bundanoon

Day 1 at Goulburn Regional Firefighter Champs done ✅ Bundanoon 242 had four members participating and facilitating today!

🚒 Day 1 at the Goulburn Regional Firefighter Championship is officially in the books! 🚒

We had an incredible day of competition and we absolutely can't wait for Day 2 tomorrow!

🏆 Current Standings Update: A massive shoutout to Echuca CFA, who are currently sitting in the lead! But it's a tight race—Wyong FRNSW is following closely right on their heels. It's going to be an exciting finish! 🔥

A car carrying two people and a corgi took an unexpected detour off the road, over a creek, and into a ditch yesterday afternoon between Exeter and Bundanoon.

Bundanoon 242 was tasked by NSW Ambulance as the Community First Responder crew, providing initial patient care on scene.

As qualified road crash rescue operators, we then supported NSW SES with vehicle stabilisation and patient extrication. RFS crews provided fire protection, while NSW Police managed the scene.

Both patients were safely removed and handed into the care of paramedics.

UPDATE - Telstra has now implemented a solution that has addressed the impact of the secondary Triple Zero issue. Backup systems and the welfare check process remains in place, however they have not needed to complete a welfare check since the solution was implemented.

⚠️ OUTAGE UPDATE - TRIPLE ZERO ADVICE

While Telstra fixed the issue that caused today's outage, they have identified a secondary issue impacting some calls including Triple Zero.

In these cases, when you call Triple Zero you’ll receive an error message and your phone will try to connect to an alternative mobile network.

If you experience any issues calling Triple Zero, try:

1. Waiting for your phone to connect to an alternative network if one is available - this can take up to 90 seconds

2. Using a different phone to make the call

As part of the back up process, a welfare check will be completed where a failed Triple Zero call is detected.

Bundanoon 242 have been on scene today at a major truck fire on the Hume Highway near Breadalbane, responding earlier this morning as part of a large multi-agency operation involving several heavy vehicles carrying flammable loads.

Crews have used compressed air foam to attack the fire, with HAZMAT specialists monitoring runoff and drone operators checking smoke conditions from above.

242 crew members Brough, Gnecchi-Ruscone, Greenwood and Potts assisted with firefighting efforts—and enjoyed a snag or two generously supplied by the RFS!
