Thanks to everyone who came along to our Fire & First Aid morning tea yesterday at the hall🔥⛑️

We had a full house, plenty of good conversations around home fire safety, medical emergencies and how Fire & Rescue, RFS, NSW Ambulance, and other emergency services work together on jobs.

We also enjoyed some freshly brewed espresso coffee, thanks to Bundanoon Hotel, with Firefighter Pottsy doubling as barista for the morning! ☕️

It was such a great success, we may have to do it again some time—let us know if there’s anything else you’d like to learn about us and we’ll make sure to cover it in the next session 🚒🧑🏽‍🚒

Tomorrow at our FRNSW Open Day, we’ll also be raising money for Beat the Burn—an organisation supporting children and families impacted by burn injuries.

Beat the Burn helps fund burns research, equipment, rehabilitation and family support programs, while also raising awareness around burn prevention and recovery.

If you’re coming down to the station between 10am–2pm, feel free to grab a snag, say hello and support a really important cause while you’re there.

Join us for our station Open Day this Saturday (May 9th) from 10am to 2pm! 🔥🚒

Come down to Bundanoon 242 Fire Station for a look around and a chat with the crew, and there’ll be a few fun surprises as well.

We’ll have:

🚒 Our fire truck on display
💧 Fire hoses set up
🎁 Fun fire education gifts for the kiddies
🌭 A delicious sausage sizzle

Kids (and grown-ups too!) can jump in the truck, spray the hose and ask us anything they like.

Members of Bundanoon 242 participated in the NSW Road Crash Rescue Challenge in Dubbo over the weekend in the RS2 Phantoms team, along with 16 other teams from all over the state, from Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW SES, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance, CFA (Country Fire Authority), and VRA Rescue NSW.

It was a fantastic, positive learning opportunity—all with the aim of preparing us for real jobs, where pressure is at the max and there are serious, real-world consequences for our actions.

Thanks for having us guys, see you next year! 🔥⛑️
