Our members joined more than 100 NSW SES members from across the state last weekend.
They took part in the annual Wellington Wombats exercise at Wellington Caves.

Members put their rescue skills to the test in one of the Service’s most unusual training environments.
Over two days, they crawled, climbed and descended through the caves, practicing rope systems, rigging casualty management and rescue techniques in tight, dark and unfamiliar spaces.
Opportunities like these mean we practise vertical rescue skills, learn from one another and build our capability in realistic rescue scenarios.

Some of our unit members have joined this search today.

The multi-agency search for 18-year-old Lily Hooper continues in Nattai National Park for its sixth day.

About 200 NSW SES members have assisted in the search since Wednesday, including specialised Bush Search and Rescue teams who've searched through the night and camped out in remote parts of the national park.

Lily was last seen wearing a shirt and shorts, and her vehicle was located near the Bonnum Pic Walking Trail in the National Park.

⚠️ Anyone who sees her is urged to contact The Hume Police District or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

On Sunday, 20 members attended the unit to assist with our maintenance /cleanup day. These activities are conducted regularly to ensure our vehicles and equipment are fit and ready for operational purposes. Thank you to the lovely people at A Slice of Homemade by Anna who called in after the local markets to deliver a batch of beautiful homemade cupcakes for afternoon tea.

Our unit had 4 callouts today for tree jobs.

We don't have a current weather warning for our area, but we may still get some more rain and wind overnight.

You can do the following to keep yourself and your property safe:
🔸️Park your car under secure cover and away from trees, powerlines and drains.
🔸️Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
🔸️ Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
🔸️Report fallen power lines to Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.

Earlier today Bungendore Unit got a request for assistance from Wildcare to help relocate a female kangaroo and joey, that had unfortunately fallen down a footing hole at a Royalla building site.
Working with Wildcare and Possumwood, the team used techniques from our SES training to extract the kangaroo safely and deliver it to the Wildcare volunteers that were on site, waiting to take them both into care.

Tonight some of our members met up at the Royal Hotel in Bungendore for a belated celebration of and .

We had lots of fun joining in the trivia and our 'Orange Teletubbies' team came equal first on points.
