$750 MILLION.

“Not one red cent more.” Yeah, right.

Now Macquarie Point Stadium is heading towards $1 BILLION and the Tasmanian Government still won’t tell us the full cost.

Parliament told them to release the updated figures by August.

It’s September. CRICKETS.

70% of Tasmanians want the costings released. So bloody release them.

If the price hasn’t blown out, prove it. If it has, stop hiding and tell Tasmanians the truth.

Because while they’re pouring money into this stadium, 1,700 public sector jobs are being cut, health workers are going and health programs are being slashed.

And if the thing isn’t ready by 2028, taxpayers could be slugged nearly another $5 million.

I like my footy. But I hope that gold-plated roof is worth it.

Because Tasmania’s health system is getting absolutely belted.

Wake up.

Apparently saying the word “vagina” in the Senate upset a few people.

Oh dear.

Half the population has one. Get over it.

What should actually make people uncomfortable is women being left in pain, waiting months or even years for treatment, being dismissed by doctors and being told to just put up with it.

Pelvic organ prolapse is common. Incontinence is common. Gynaecological cancers kill Australian women every bloody day.

Yet women’s health is still treated like an afterthought.

If talking openly about women’s bodies makes a few people squirm, too bad.

Women have stayed quiet for long enough.

Half the population shouldn’t have to keep fighting for half the attention.

We’ve had enough.

Its two years today, since the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Su***de handed down its final report.

Two bloody years.

And just last week, we lost another veteran.

How many more?

Veterans and families relived some of the worst moments of their lives to give evidence to that Royal Commission because they believed things would finally change.

But here we are, two years later, and we’re going backwards again.

The Royal Commission warned its report could not be left sitting on a shelf gathering dust.

Well Canberra needs to wake up, because veteran su***de hasn’t gone away.

Defence and DVA need to move faster. Much faster.

That means timely access to healthcare, less bureaucracy, and actually putting veterans first.

Not another hurdle. Not another excuse. And certainly not a bloody $5,000 cap on allied healthcare.

Our veterans have waited long enough.

Start making change.

𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗔 𝗜𝗦 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛. 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗔𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗔’𝗦 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗧𝗦.

China is increasing its presence in Antarctica while Defence has failed to properly consider Australia’s southern approaches.

And at the same time, they’re rushing to sell off Defence sites around the country including sites in Tasmania.

Eight of the nine cadet sites being divested are in Tasmania.

That’s not strategy. That’s poor planning.

The Senate inquiry is already exposing serious holes in the process, including incomplete information, questionable assumptions and a lack of proper consultation.

Tasmania shouldn’t be treated like an afterthought when it comes to Australia’s national security.

SCRAP THE CAP petition: arrogantalbo.com.au

Today I followed up on the Government’s proposed $5,000 allied health cap for veterans.

They’ve recently announced exemptions for some veterans. That's a start.

But plenty of veterans could still get caught by this cap including those recovering from major surgery, those still working, and those needing months of rehab.

The Government says extra treatment will be approved within 28 days.

That would be reassuring if DVA had a track record that justified the confidence.

The average MRCA initial liability claim takes around 364 days.

And while DVA decides, allied health providers are apparently expected to keep treating veterans and trust they’ll get paid.

That’s the problem.

Veterans don’t trust DVA. Providers don’t trust DVA.

This is bad policy being patched up on the run.

Scrap the bloody cap.

If you agree, sign the petition and help us force the Government to listen.

Sign it. Share it. Don’t let them quietly push this through.

Earlier today I showed you what happened in 2024 when I asked Big Tech why they wouldn’t fix the algorithms pushing harmful content at our kids.

Today, I took that fight into the Senate.

Big Tech knows exactly what these algorithms do. They’re designed to keep kids online longer because more time online means more money.

And governments have let them get away with it for years.

Now the government is putting more focus on harmful algorithms. About time.

But the real question is whether they’ve got the courage to actually stand up to Big Tech.

There’s a difference between free speech and using algorithms to pump ugly, harmful content at children.

Enough talk. It’s time to act.

I’ve been warning for years about the algorithms that push harmful content, hate and division especially onto our kids.

During the Senate inquiry into the Online Safety / Social Media Minimum Age Bill in 2024, I asked the Big Tech industry a pretty simple question:

If you have the power to change the algorithms, why don’t you bloody change them?

Instead, I got excuses about regulation, incentives and what governments should be doing.

That wasn’t the question.

These platforms built the algorithms. They control them. They can change them.

If Big Tech really gives a stuff about protecting our kids, then fix the bloody algorithms.

Stop waiting to be forced into doing the right thing.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗲: 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝘄𝗼
So I asked AI another pretty simple question:
If Australia gets AI regulation wrong when politicians finally get around to it, what’s the worst-case scenario?
Its answer?
𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀. 𝗡𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲. 𝗡𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹.
We could end up with the job losses and the surveillance creep, without seeing any of the benefits.
Foreign tech giants keep harvesting Australian data and hollowing out local jobs, while homegrown AI companies get strangled by rules built for the big players.
Meanwhile, data centres keep draining regional water and power with zero transparency.
And by the time politicians finally act, the public has lost all trust in the technology.
𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗜 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱.
It’s about Australia ending up with all the costs and none of the control.
𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝘄𝗼.

Our public hospitals are already under pressure because more than 3,700 older Australians who are medically ready to leave hospital have nowhere to go.

In Tasmania, that number has risen from 55 to 78.

And now the Albanese Government wants to make private health insurance more expensive for Australians over 65.

If people drop or downgrade their cover, where do they end up?

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺.

Canberra needs to fix the aged-care bottleneck, not make the pressure worse.
