Hello to all community members,
Just a note mainly for those of you who live or will be in the vicinity of the Burrum River and Pacific Haven areas tomorrow morning (Wednesday the 24th June 2026). As part of our Hazard Mitigation Strategies our Volunteer Firefighters will be conducting a permitted Hazard Reduction Burn on a property in The Yachtsmans Drive area from about 08:30am, so there may be some smoke visible around the area. If you have any respiratory issues please try to avoid the smoke and maybe stay inside your home with your windows and doors closed. If you have any concerns or questions about this event please don't hesitate to call the First Officer Mark from the Burrum Heads Rural Fire Brigade on MB: 0458 680 426, thank you. Great turn out today at the ANZAC day parade in Burrum Heads. Some of the crew had volunteered to assist with fires in the Gladstone area at this time.
