Midnight tonight, the 31st of March, marks the end of the Bushfire Danger Period for those in the Southern Border Area (Albury City, Berrigan, Federation and the Greater Hume Local Government Areas).

Whilst permits are no longer required as of midnight tonight, ALL burning operations will require you to notify your adjoining neighbours and your local Captain at least 24 hours prior.

A Total Fire Ban is in place today, Sunday, 25 January for the Eastern Riverina and Monaro Alpine areas. Hot, dry and windy conditions are forecast across parts of the state, increasing the fire danger.

Be ready to act. Know your fire risk and what you will do if fire threatens. Report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).

Who doesn't love a call out at 3:30 in the morning? We're not exactly excited by the notion but all three of our trucks rolled out in the early hours of this morning to attend a haystack fire.

With an approximated 500 large bales of hay up in flames the assistance from surrounding brigades, contractors and landholders, we still only just rolled our final truck back into station at around 10:00pm this evening.

A huge effort by all involved and hopefully everyone can get a full nights rest tonight.

We've been a little quiet on socials the last few days but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy.

Our brigade has continued to send strike teams out to Victoria assisting with assest protection, back burning and blacking out (often at some interesting angles).

We also had a crew stick a little more local, helping with blackout efforts at Goombargana over the weekend.

Over the past few days, we have been overwhelmed by the incredible generosity shown by our community, with an influx of people donating supplies to support our local crews. We cannot express how thankful we are to each and every person, club, group and family who has contributed.

Your kindness and support mean more than words can say.

Donating is not compulsory but If you would like to donate to local NSW RFS crews, please visit the Lavington Disaster Hub, located at the Lavington Fire Station, 629 Krautz Street, Lavington NSW 2641.

From here, donations are packed and delivered directly to fire grounds or brigades where crews are working tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

Our crews are extremely appreciative and grateful to be supported by such a kind and generous community. We truly cannot thank you enough. ❤️🚒

09/01 - A big day all round for the brigade today, with all three of our tankers out an about.

Alpha started it's day as part of a strike team assisting with property protection at Talmalmo and finished up at Goombargana along with Bravo and Charlie.

Tomorrow we'll be sending Alpha and crew back to Talmalmo for another stint on the fire ground.
