📢 Card Surcharging Changes – Is Your Business Ready?

From 1 October 2026, businesses will no longer be able to apply surcharges to eftpos, Mastercard, Visa and American Express payments.

Sarah George - Business Lecturer based at SR TAFE Busselton Campus. Sarah oversees business traineeships and delivers the Certificate III in Business, Certificate II in Applied Digital Technologies, Photography Skill Set and selected units from the Certificate III in Information Technology. With a background bridging the UK and Australia in careers as an Auto/Archi CAD technician, Illustrator and Graphic Designer she brings over two decades of creative, technical and entrepreneurial experience to the judging panel, thriving on visual problem solving, Vocational Education Training Delivered to secondary students (VETDss) and building strong cross-industry connections behind the scenes. She brings passion, enthusiasm, and a dynamic approach to her work; qualities she will undoubtedly bring to the awards judging process.

Sarah has also been an applicant in the BCCI Business Excellence Awards in 2018 so is familiar with the process and benefits of being a part of the Awards program.

Alastair has recently retired from a lifelong career in banking and finance, having worked with the CBA, NAB and Bendigo Bank. He last position was a Senior Manager Middle Markets with Bendigo Bank as well as working in their Risk Rating Quality Review division.
He also had 13 years in the private sector, in the accounting and administration area and operating his consultancy business.
Retirement has allowed him to spend more time with family, travelling and renew his enjoyment of golf. He also enjoys music and continues in his self-taught pursuit of playing guitar.
