The City of Busselton is located in the South West corner of Western Australia, 232 kilometres south of Perth. It covers an area of 1454 km2 and is bounded by the Shires of Augusta-Margaret River, Capel, Donnybrook and Nannup.

The City of Busselton and City of Bunbury have joined forces to create a new regional awards program celebrating the athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, teams and clubs who make sport such an important part of life across the South West.

Whether it's outstanding sporting achievement or the dedication of community volunteers behind the scenes, now is the time to recognise those making a difference.

The inaugural South West Sports Awards will be held in Bunbury in November 2026, with 2027 being hosted in Busselton.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟱 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 - 𝟰 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 👩‍🎨

Discover the artists of the Margaret River Region Open Studios event in this special exhibition featuring one selected work from each participating artist. Explore painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textiles, photography, jewellery, printmaking, woodwork and mixed media.

The exhibition is designed as a starting point for discovery. Visitors are invited to explore the works at Saltwater Gallery, connect with the artist’s creative voices, and then plan their own Open Studios journey by choosing which studios they would like to visit during the event.

Join us for the Opening Function at Saltwater at 5pm Friday 4 September, and the Art After Dark event, 5-8pm Friday 2 October. All welcome! ✨

The City of Busselton is rapidly growing, and we want to ensure we plan for future community spaces and facilities to meet everyone's needs.

This planning will cover facilities used by everyone in the community and ranges from arts and cultural centres, museums, libraries, youth centres, community halls, childcare centres, schools, hospitals, parks, sporting fields, recreation centres and aged care centres.

The City of Busselton invites community members to comment on a request to name Reserve 38690, located at the corner of Harwood Road and Guerin Street, Geographe, as “Phyllis Isaacs Hill Memorial Park”.

A bit about Phyllis Isaacs Ronan 👇

Mrs Phyllis Isaacs Ronan was born in Busselton in 1913 and was a respected Bibbulmen/Wadandi Elder, senior cultural knowledge holder and much-loved member of the local community. Known to many as Nana Phyllis, she was a descendant of the Isaacs and Hill families, two longstanding Aboriginal families with deep connections to the Busselton region.

A direct descendant of Samuel Isaacs, recognised for his role in the rescue of the SS Georgette, Mrs Isaacs Ronan carried and shared important cultural and historical knowledge. She has worked with the City of Busselton on community projects, and her knowledge has contributed to records relating to the Wonnerup Massacre and local Aboriginal history.

The City of Busselton is delighted to announce that its new CEO, Annie Riordan, started today!🌟

Annie is a proud South West local, joining the City following almost 8 years as CEO at the Shire of Harvey and 8 years as Director Corporate and Community Services at the Shire of Augusta Margaret River.

Annie is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and she holds a Master of Business Administration. She is also a serving Board Member of Local Government Professionals WA where she was previously the State President for two years.

𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻!

The City of Busselton has secured $22,050 in funding through the Community Water Supplies Partnerships Program to develop construction-ready plans for the next stage of the Dunsborough Non-Potable Water Network.

The project will help guide future expansion of the network, supporting the sustainable irrigation of parks, public open spaces and sporting ovals while reducing reliance on scheme water.

The funding builds on previous investment that has already extended the network from Dunsborough Lakes to the Dunsborough Playing Fields, helping improve water security for the growing community.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲! 📚

Busselton and Dunsborough Libraries recorded an incredible 1.03 million interactions during the 2025/26 financial year, the first time our library services have reached this milestone.

While more than 319,000 physical and digital items were borrowed throughout the year, the numbers only tell part of the story. Every day our libraries bring people together through Storytime sessions, accessing technology, workshops and learning opportunities.

A big thank you to our community and all those who visited, borrowed, clicked and helped us achieve this milestone.
