"Turning the Tide" outreach bus is a program funded by the Australian Government to help reduce the occurrence of youth related crimes in the Byron Shire. The bus travels around the North of the Shire, Brunswick Heads, Ocean Shores, New Brighton and Mullumbimby on Friday nights and focuses on Byron CBD, Suffolk Park and Sunrise Estate on Saturday nights from 8pm till 12am. uth workers we drive around to the "Hotspots" where young people are hanging out, drinking and participating in risky behaviour. The service is a consistent presence on the streets and works on a combination of early intervention and pre-emptive education.
