EX STOIC ATLAS 2026

Over the period 07 – 17 Apr 26 OSS conducted Ex STOIC ATLAS which saw members of the Regiment from all ranks PTE to MAJ and across RAAOC, RAEME, RACT, and RASIGS.
The exercise was conducted along the Great Ocean Walk and covered more than 104 km of challenging terrain with significant elevation gain, testing participants’ physical endurance and mental resilience. Rapid and unpredictable changes in weather and temperature further increased the difficulty. The exercise demanded sustained teamwork, adaptability, and determination, reinforcing core soldiering skills in a complex and austere environment to develop resilience, navigation and time management skills.
Well done to all.

Sun 29 Mar 26 -
Members of the Regiment took part in Run Army 2026 on a beautiful morning through the streets of Brisbane. A great opportunity to meet up with past and present Army members (if you can spot them in the crowd!!). The event promotes health and wellbeing, while raising vital funds for charities that support our veterans, first responders and their families. Combining with Queensland Police, Fire, Ambulance and State Emergency services, Surf Life Saving Queensland and the Indigenous Marathon Foundation to celebrate those who serve the community in times of need.
Well done to all.

Saturday 14 Mar 26
7 Sig Regt opened Borneo Barracks for all serving member’s families to celebrate the Army 125th Birthday.
Lots of kids activities; Bouncy Castle, face painting, kids Obstacle course and a petting zoo. The cutting of the birthday cake followed a central BBQ. Overall everyone appeared to enjoy the day. Our thanks to DMFS and Legacy for their support and thank you to all who attended and to all organisers and duty personnel on the day. Well done to all.

On Thursday 11 Dec 25, the Regiment hosted (surprised) Mr Jim Danskin for the purpose of dedicating an area within 73 EW SQN to be now known as “Danskin’s Den”, immortalising Jim and recognising his significant personal contributions to 7th Signal Regiment.
Mr Jim Danskin has been associated with 7th Signal Regiment since 1958. Jim has served with the unit on a number of activities in a number or places until discharging in 1981. Jim remained engaged with 7th Signal Regiment, running the Gordon VC MM Club until retiring in 1995, and the 7 Sig Regt Association until stepping down from this.
Jim continues this allegiance with the unit and has delivered his personal accounts of the units history and his involvement with the current 547 SIG Tp and 693 SIG Tp.

We thank Jim and look forward to future discussions with him into 2026.
