Multicultural Day was an amazing event!
What a wonderful celebration at our CAMS Moreton Bay Multicultural Community Event, held at the Caboolture Senior Citizens Hall!
The day was all about belonging — welcoming people from all cultures to come together, share traditions, learn about one another and celebrate through dance, music, food, art and storytelling. ❤️
Our performers took us on a journey around the world without leaving Caboolture! 🌎
💃 We began with the colour and energy of Colombian dance, before travelling across the Pacific to experience the beautiful traditions of Samoa.
🎻 We then enjoyed the beautiful sounds of our Chinese violinist, before heading back across the Pacific to Hawaii.
🇮🇳 Our Indian performer immersed us in another wonderful cultural experience, followed by music from our Filipino community, including a fantastic harmonica performance.
🌺 And to finish our journey, we travelled back to the islands with the beautiful culture and dance of Tahiti.
A huge thank you to Lenaya Baked Goods for providing delicious treats and bringing those wonderful island dessert flavours to the event.
Thank you also to Sarah, who created beautiful henna art for our guests throughout the day. Your talent added another special cultural experience to our celebration.
👏 A very special thank you to all our CAMS Moreton Bay Caboolture volunteers. Community events simply could not happen without volunteers giving their time, energy and support. We appreciate every one of you.
A big thank you to Donna for helping with the chairs, decorations and setting up the hall. Every helping hand made a difference.
We were also pleased to welcome the ABS Census team, who attended to provide information and support, helping make Census participation a little easier and more accessible for our CALD community.
And last but certainly not least, thank you to Imeleta and the Feros Care team for being part of our day and supporting our multicultural community.
This event showed exactly what belonging to a community means — people from different cultures and backgrounds coming together, sharing who they are, learning from each other, laughing, dancing and celebrating side by side.
Different cultures. One community. A place where everyone belongs. ❤️🌏
