A huge congratulations to our CMT Evolution and CMT Neo Concert Bands!
We are incredibly proud of our Instrumental Music students who recently performed at the 2026 Peninsula Music Festival, joining an amazing celebration of music alongside 87 ensembles, 37 state primary and secondary schools, and more than 1,750 music students across three days!
Both ensembles received a Silver Rating, with some wonderful feedback from the adjudicator. This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work, dedication and teamwork our students have shown in preparing for this event.
Beyond their performances, our students represented their schools beautifully through their exemplary behaviour and respectful participation as audience members. It was wonderful to see them supporting fellow musicians and being part of such a positive musical community.
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Instrumental Music teachers for their commitment to preparing and supporting these young musicians.
Congratulations to every student involved! We are so proud of you and look forward to seeing your musical journeys continue to grow.

Student Leadership in Action!
What a wonderful opportunity for our Pumicestone State School captains, Posi and Saylor, along with our Principal, Corrie Connors, and Deputy Principal, Dan Carlyon, to represent our school at a recent community event hosted by Ariana Doolan MP, Member for Pumicestone.

It was a privilege to attend alongside our captains as they engaged confidently and thoughtfully with several Queensland Government ministers, including the Hon. Sam O’Connor MP, Minister for Housing and Public Works and Minister for Youth; Hon. Laura Ge**er MP, Minister for Youth Justice and Victim Support; and the Hon. Tim Mander MP, Minister for Sport and Racing.

Posi and Saylor embraced the opportunity to share their perspectives, ask questions and advocate for what they would like to see in their local community. Their willingness to contribute to meaningful conversations about issues affecting young people was particularly impressive.

Our captains also enjoyed reconnecting with the Hon. John-Paul Langbroek MP, Minister for Education and the Arts, following his recent visit to Pumicestone State School. Their conversations explored the use of artificial intelligence in education and the importance of explicit teaching, particularly in developing strong foundations in reading.

As Principal, I was incredibly proud to see Posi and Saylor demonstrate such confidence, curiosity and maturity in their interactions. They were wonderful ambassadors for our school and a powerful reminder of the importance of giving young people a genuine voice in shaping their communities.

A sincere thank you to Ariana Doolan MP for the invitation and for creating opportunities for our young leaders to connect with decision-makers.

🏉 Year 5 & 6 Rugby League Development Program 🏉

We’ve had a fantastic start to our Year 5 and 6 Rugby League Development Program this week! 🙌

In our first session, students began learning the fundamentals of safe tackling, focusing on correct technique, body positioning and the importance of keeping themselves and others safe on the field.

It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, building confidence and developing the skills needed to play rugby league safely. 💪

We’re looking forward to watching our students continue to develop their skills throughout the program! 🏉👏
