🏆 SPORTING SUCCESS & STUDENT LEADERSHIP SPOTLIGHT! 🏆

A huge shout-out to Jahziah for stepping up and going above and beyond at the recent FNQ 9's! 👏

When referees were unexpectedly unavailable, Jahziah stepped up to referee extra games, ensuring they continued safely and on time. 🙌

When the Grand Final referee was also unavailable, Jahziah once again stepped up and did an outstanding job!

His willingness to help, positive attitude and ability to take responsibility are a fantastic example of leadership and sportsmanship. 👏

Thank you, Jahziah, for being such a valuable member of our school sporting community. We are incredibly proud of how you represented yourself and Woree SHS! 💚

Queensland Bus Driver of the Year Awards 2026
Nominations are now open!

Do you know a bus driver who turns an ordinary trip into a great one? Maybe they've helped a fellow passenger in need, shown kindness and care, or consistently delivered great customer service.

Whatever makes them special, give them the recognition they deserve by nominating them for the Queensland Bus Driver of the Year Awards.

These annual awards celebrate bus drivers who go above and beyond to make travel safe, friendly and reliable for everyone. Customer nominations and votes help recognise the positive impact drivers have on their local communities.

Parents and guardians can nominate a driver of a school route service on behalf of their child.

Nominate before 11:59pm on Sunday 6 September 2026 and you'll go into the draw to win one of ten $150 gift cards.

Woree’s annual Creative and Performing Arts Night is fast approaching and will be held early in Term 4!

All music students are invited to register their interest in performing a song they have been working on, have written themselves, or simply love to perform.

Woree’s Got Talent is also open to all students and will be held at the beginning of Term 4.

This is a great opportunity to showcase your talent and perform in front of our school community!

🎣 The Tinaroo Barrabash is Back! 🐟

The Tableland Fish Stocking Society is excited to announce the return of the Tinaroo Barrabash at Lake Tinaroo! 🌿

📅 25–27 September 2026
📍 Lake Tinaroo Foreshore Picnic Area
(Opposite Discovery Parks – Lake Tinaroo)

This is a fantastic family-friendly event with plenty of fun for everyone!

👧🧒 Kids’ activities will be running on Sunday from 9:00am–1:00pm, including:
🎣 Kids’ casting competition
🦞 Redclaw racing
🐟 Live fish displays
🎉 And plenty more!
