🫖 🧁🍰Year 12 Hospitality Practices students put on a delicious high tea for staff as part of their current unit of study, where they are exploring the art of formal dining, customer service and event planning.

Students created and served a delightful selection of sweet treats and savoury delights, such as egg and cress finger sandwiches, smoked salmon and cucumber bites and mini chocolate eclairs, as well as a variety of teas.

Staff attendance not only provided a valuable audience for students to practice their skills, but also supported of their personal growth and sense of achievement. Thank you to teacher Mr Callum Roberts for expertly guiding our students through the preparation and service of the High Teas.

🏥 Certificate II in Health Support Services (HLT23221) students recently gained valuable insight into the medical profession through a visit from an orthopaedic surgeon Dr Andrew Ho from Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.

Dr Ho shared his experiences and expertise in treating conditions affecting bones, joints, and muscles. Through engaging examples, he explained how injuries such as fractures and sports-related damage are diagnosed and treated, highlighting the role of modern technology in improving patient outcomes.

The surgeon also outlined the extensive training required for this career path, from completing a medical degree to undertaking years of specialised hospital training. He emphasised the importance of dedication, teamwork, and lifelong learning in medicine.

The session sparked strong interest among students, many of whom left feeling inspired to explore future careers in medicine.

Huge congrats to the boys, and coach Mr Ferreira Abreu, who were victorious 2-0 in their grand final over Newman Catholic College this afternoon.

In other news, our Boys Touch team lost a hard-fought battle 6-9 against Saints in the Premier Division final, in the Bentley Buliyir's other grand final appearance.

🏐 We wrapped up last term at Bentley Park College Primary with a much-anticipated handball competition, and it did not disappoint!

First lunch kicked off with our Year 5 and Year 6 students, and the competition was fierce. Matches went on and on as students went skill for skill in some epic rallies.

🏆 Year 6 Champion: Jowade, after an absolute battle with Jackson
🏆 Year 5 Champion: Joreece, taking the win against Ezayah in a thrilling grand final (keeping it in the family!)

Then it was time for the staff showdown… and things got serious! Mr Clair, Mr Keddi, Miss Taylor, Mr Downs, Miss Sam and Mr Richie all stepped up for bragging rights.

The grand final saw Mr Keddi vs Mr Downs, with Mr Keddi taking the win.
Although… Mr Downs is currently reviewing the footage and considering a formal investigation into some “highly questionable calls”.

Second lunch saw our Year 3 and Year 4 students take the courts:
🏆 Year 4 Champion: Kyson, in a great final against Logan
🏆 Year 3 Champion: Brendan, who edged out Tuiava in a nail-biting finish

It was an incredible day of competition, and we were especially proud of the outstanding sportsmanship shown by all our primary students. Well done to everyone involved!
