International Women’s Day 2026

Today we celebrate the incredible women of Ithaca–Caloundra City Life Saving Club who proudly volunteer their time to keep our beach and community safe.

From patrol duties and training to mentoring the next generation of lifesavers, women continue to play a vital role in the strength and success of our club. Their dedication, teamwork and commitment to service are truly inspiring.

We are proud to stand alongside such capable and passionate volunteers in the red and yellow.

Congratulations to some of our members who were recently honoured at Government House with Society Honours. They were presented their certificates and / or medals by Governor of Queensland. Thank you Royal Life Saving Society Queensland Inc RTO 5431 for organising this great event. It was great to see so many people being recognised with society honours (not just our club members). 🏅 Club Members recognised by Australian Honours System!

Two club member recognised with Medal of the Order of Australia

Royal Life Saving Society Queensland and the Ithaca–Caloundra City Life Saving Club proudly congratulate Ms Lynda Jane Barry OAM and Ms Patricia Ann Barry OAM on their appointment as Members of the Order of Australia, recognising their extraordinary and enduring contributions to lifesaving, education and community safety.

Together, their combined service spans more than 80 years of volunteer commitment, leadership and frontline public safety across Queensland.

Do you notice anything missing in this photo?

Sadly, our donation can was stolen late this afternoon. It’s a really disheartening thing to happen, especially to a small volunteer club like ours. Another can was also emptied.

We don’t raise much this way — about $20 a week — but that small amount makes a real difference. It helps us buy first aid supplies and fuel our rescue equipment to support the volunteers who give their time to keep the Caloundra community safe at Bulcock Beach.

Losing these donations hurts, and now we also need to replace the can and find a way to secure it. It’s upsetting, because every cent we raise goes straight back into serving our community.
If you saw anything, or if our donation can turns up somewhere, please speak to one of our volunteers on Saturday or call us on 0433 771 433.
