A visit from Zone Commander Superintendent Hurley and Duty Commander Inspector Fitzpatrick took place last night at the Campbelltown crew, where they were awarded a Unit Commendation for meritorious service for their efforts during the service station fire on 24th February 2023.

Today we had a very special visitor!

We were lucky enough to meet Zinger from Therapy by Rhonda and friends 🔥.

Zinger has a very important job as a support dog in the court system, providing support to people during difficult times.

Considering how happy he was sitting on the pumper, maybe in a previous life he was a Dalmatian, and spent his time at the fire station, chasing after the fire carriage and sniffing out snacks!

Thanks to Zinger and all the other service animals out there making the world a better place, one belly rub at a time! 🐶🐱🦮

A busy shift for firefighters at 088 Campbelltown, responding to a variety of incidents across the Campbelltown LGA.

Incidents attended included alarms operating, car fires, a rubbish fire, a motor vehicle accident plus assisting our colleagues at NSW Ambulance.

Whilst attending these incidents we still managed to attend a local pre-school to deliver vital fire safety information.

Some great advice from our colleagues at Fire and Rescue NSW Station 011 Woollahra

Do you know what to do if you see us in your rear view?🚒

If you’re driving and see a fire truck with lights flashing and sirens blaring coming up behind you, it’s crucial to act safely and promptly. Here’s what to do:

✅ Move Left & Give Way – As soon as it’s safe, indicate and pull to the left side of the road to let the fire truck pass.

✅ Come to a Complete Stop – If necessary, stop to ensure a clear path for emergency vehicles.

✅ Don’t Block Intersections – If approaching an intersection, stop before it and let the fire truck pass.

🛑 If you are stopped at a RED light don’t move forward into the intersection to let the fire truck pass, this could put you in danger. Wait until you have a green light and then move left.

✅ Keep Clear in Traffic – If you’re unable to move left due to traffic, keep as far left as possible and allow room for the fire truck to get through.

✅ Watch for Multiple Emergency Vehicles – More may be following, so stay alert and don’t move back into traffic too soon.

✅ Teach your L and P platers to do the same.

🚒 If we don’t have our lights and sirens on we are just like every other vehicle on the road and there is no need to give way to us.

088 Campbelltown’s CAFS Pumper and CAFS Tanker along with tankers from Kentlyn Rural Fire Brigade and Lynwood Park Rural Fire Brigade are on scene at a grass fire burning in bushland in Airds.

Crews are currently utilising hose lines to extinguish the fire.

UPDATE: The fire has been extinguished and crews have returned to station.

Did you know - Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service crews often work together to extinguish fires burning in the bush and urban interface (area where houses meet the bush) 🚒🔥

Campbelltown Fire Station had a special unannounced visit this evening, with some members of the Fire Brigade Band coming along to play us some Christmas carols. Well done legends and thankyou for the songs. Welcome back anytime and merry Christmas.
