Around 4 pm today (Saturday), crews from Basket Range CFS and Campbelltown State Emergency Service responded to a tree blocking the road at Basket Range.

What a weekend 🧡🧡

Between 13:28hrs and midnight on Sunday, our unit received 89 Requests for Assistance out of a statewide total of 554, with the vast majority relating to flooding across our community.

More than 25 of our Campbelltown volunteers worked tirelessly responding to incidents, staffing our sandbag station, running the local control centre, supporting crew welfare, and keeping operations moving around the clock.

A huge thank you to the crew from Metro South State Emergency Service, Noarlunga State Emergency Service, Sturt State Emergency Service and Eastern Suburbs State Emergency Service Units, along with Athelstone CFS, for their invaluable support during a demanding operational period.

Thanks also to Matthew Marozzi MP and Jen Roberts MP for dropping by with food and snacks for our hardworking volunteers.

To everyone who helped, thank you. We’re incredibly proud of what was achieved under pressure across the state.

Building Impact Response 🚨

On Thursday morning, Campbelltown SES crews were called to assist Eastern Suburbs State Emergency Service at a building impact incident after a vehicle collided into the front of a house.

Our volunteers provided additional shoring equipment and assisted crews already on scene to stabilise the structure.

Wednesday night training saw volunteers tackle various stations of storm damage related skills. From rapid deployment of our Boxwall flood barriers to sandbagging, tarping a structure and temporary property repairs 🏡

A busy few days for Campbelltown SES volunteers.

In the early hours of Friday morning, our crew responded alongside Eastern Suburbs State Emergency Service and South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service to assist with significant flooding across the Adelaide C*D. Crews worked through the morning helping salvage businesses and properties affected by the burst water main.

This afternoon, volunteers were again called into action, responding to a building collapse, assessing and making the scene safe.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported at either incident.

Yesterday Campbelltown State Emergency Service had the pleasure of presenting to members of the Latin American Society SA - LASSA about the role of the SA State Emergency Service and how to stay prepared for emergencies here in SA.

Emergency preparedness is especially important for CALD communities and newly arrived migrants who are still getting to know their new country, neighbourhoods, and local risks.

It was an excellent, engaged group with thoughtful discussion and plenty of great questions.
