The Prime Minister announced the launch of the Centre for Australia-India Relations on 23 May 2023.

Yesterday we departed for the next 10 days, taking seven startup companies from around the country to India to meet their counterparts. 🛫 As part of the Australia-India Space Alliance, this trip allows them to collaborate on critical technologies to fast-track market entry and increase their investment opportunities.

We are so glad to be venturing off with AICRAFT, Blue Dwarf , HEX20 , ORBITALBLUE, QL Space, Space Angel and Spiral Blue, thanks to funding provided by the Australia-India Council.

The Indian-Australian diaspora is the key to unlocking the full potential of the 🇦🇺 and 🇮🇳 economic relationship, a message reinforced today at the Australia-India Business Engagement Roundtable.

Our bilateral relationship is at a high point, but there is much more we can do.

There’s a new funding opportunity for the Australian and Indian cultural and creative sectors to exchange and collaborate 🇮🇳🇦🇺

Three grants are available through the newly launched Maitri Cultural Partnerships:

1. Major Collaboration Grant (for major cultural organisations)
2. Visual and Performing Arts Grants (for First Nations’ participation)
3. Collaboration Grants (for small to medium cultural organisations and community groups)

Applications for the Maitri Cultural Partnerships grants are now open. 🇦🇺🇮🇳

These grants will foster greater collaboration between Australia and India’s dynamic creative industries.

The Maitri Cultural Partnerships grants will support Australian cultural organisations of all sizes as well as cultural collaboration supporting First Nations’ participation.

Funding will enable the Australian creative sector to tap into India’s thriving cultural industries.

The grants will be administered by the Centre for Australia-India Relations, opening later this year.
