This week is National Reconciliation Week, a time to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.

At the Clean Energy Regulator, we’re building understanding within our agency through an Acknowledgement of Country workshop in Ngunnawal language and hosting a guest speaker from the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation.

Our post features elements of the artwork ‘River of Life’ by Worimi artist Krystal Hurst, licensed for usage by the Clean Energy Regulator.

The Nature Repair Market scheme has reached another key milestone - it’s registered its second project. 🌱

Located 70km inland of Byron Bay, in Doon Doon, NSW, the project aims to restore 19.9 ha of cleared land.

The planting areas will connect existing bushland with Nightcap National Park, strengthening wildlife corridors and critical habitat for animals like koalas and long-nosed potoroos. 🐨

It’s also combined with a project that generates Australian carbon credit units (ACCUs) to help support ongoing costs of maintaining the area.

Changes to the Cheaper Home Batteries Program start today.

The number of STCs a new solar battery may be eligible for will now:
• reduce every 6 months at a higher rate
• be tiered based on the size of the battery.

These changes make sure the Australian Government can continue to support battery installations over the life of the program.

Use REC Registry STC calculator to work out how many STCs a solar battery may be eligible for 👉 https://bit.ly/4uEd3Jp

The Australian Government has released 2 new Savanna Fire Management methods. 📣 🔥

These methods recognise the emissions reduction potential strategic fire management brings to the northern Australia savanna ecosystems.

They will deliver significant benefits for the Australian community - helping reduce emissions from fires, store more carbon in savanna landscapes and provide strong economic outcomes for First Nations communities across northern Australia.
