A first for the ACCU Scheme. 🌳

The first project under the improved native forest management method has been conditionally registered. This follows the method being introduced earlier this year.

The project is led by the New South Wales Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and covers approximately 531,677 hectares of public native forests in the North East Regional Forest Agreement region of NSW.

It proposes to cease timber harvesting in 117,275 ha of designated carbon protection areas and reduce harvesting across the entire project area by at least 20% during each year of the project’s 15-year crediting period.

The Clean Energy Council has suspended 7 PixiiShelf inverter models from its approved inverter list due to non-compliance with its inverter terms and conditions.

As of 16 October 2026, the affected models are no longer eligible for small-scale technology certificates.

Before installing an inverter or creating a claim, check the CEC approved products list.

The Nature Repair Market scheme has registered its 4th project.

The Silva Capital Cooplacurripa Biodiversity Project No. 2 is located in north-east NSW and aims to restore more than 1,230 hectares of native ecosystems.

The project also intends to combine nature repair with carbon abatement activities under the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) Scheme, demonstrating how biodiversity and carbon outcomes can be pursued on the same area of land.

The Nature Repair Market scheme has registered its 3rd project.

Located near Coonamble in north-west NSW, the Nortongong Biodiversity Restoration Project aims to restore 968 hectares of cleared land and support the recovery of Weeping Myall open woodland ecosystems.

The project intends to combine biodiversity restoration with carbon abatement activities, creating an additional income stream that may support its long-term viability. Grazing is also expected to resume once plantings are established, allowing farming activities to continue alongside nature repair.

Mid-scale solar systems installed from today, 1 October 2026, are eligible under the recently expanded Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.

The expansion means that systems between 100 kW and 1 MW can apply for an upfront financial incentive through small-scale technology certificates.

This is an exciting milestone supporting the growth of renewable energy.

Applications for small-scale technology certificates will open mid to late November.
