Brace yourself! Excited to celebrate trans-Tasman sporting excellence and netball’s global reach, marking one year to go until the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 at a special reception hosted by Australia’s Governor-General, Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, at Government House.

Great to share the occasion with Australian netball legend Liz Ellis AO and Silver Ferns Assistant Coach Briony Akle.

Bring on Sydney 2027! 🇳🇿🏐🇦🇺

Last month, High Commissioner Andrew Needs was pleased to join MFAT Trade and Economic Group Deputy Secretary Vangelis Vitalis and DFAT Trade and Investment Group Deputy Secretary George Mina for a wide-ranging discussion on the opportunities and challenges facing our economies.

The conversation brought together senior New Zealand and Australian officials, including PM&C Deputy Secretary Justin Hayhurst, to share perspectives on our shared economic priorities and how we can continue working together to support prosperity on both sides of the Tasman.

High Commissioner Andrew Needs enjoyed cheering on the One NZ Warriors NRLW team today as they faced the Canberra Raiders NRLW team in Round 2 of the NRLW Premiership.

While the result didn’t go our way, we were proud to support our wāhine. It was great to catch up with Head Coach Ronald Griffiths and Stacey Waaka as she celebrated her One New Zealand Warriors debut - another milestone in an outstanding sporting career.

Thank you to the Canberra Raiders for your hospitality and for a great afternoon of footy.
