Thank you to HE Wassane Zailachi, Morocco’s ambassador to Australia, for the kind invitation to a Throne Day reception in Canberra last week. 🇦🇺 🇲🇦

Fortunately, the Australian Ambassador was in Australia, and able to attend this important event, where he offered his best wishes to His Majesty, King Mohammed VI, and the people of Morocco on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Throne Day.

As this year also marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Ambassador Donavan presented Ambassador Zailachi with a commemorative coin and cap.

This was a unique occasion to reflect on what’s been achieved over the past half century and to look forward to many more years of cooperation and friendship together.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Canberra proudly celebrated the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.

The reception brought together representatives of the Australian Government and the diplomatic corps, parliamentarians, business leaders, members of the Moroccan community, and friends of Morocco.

The occasion provided an opportunity to celebrate Morocco’s remarkable progress under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King and to reaffirm the strong and growing friendship between the Kingdom of Morocco and Australia.
