🇹🇯 Magyarország köztársasági elnökének hivatalba lépése

Az Országgyűlés döntése értelmében Dr. Baka András lett Magyarország új köztársasági elnöke, aki 2026. augusztus 19-én hivatalosan megkezdi államfői munkáját. Nagykövetségünk ezúton is gratulál Elnök Úrnak a mandátum megkezdéséhez.

Az új államfő elismert, nemzetközileg is jegyzett jogtudós, több évtizedes szakmai és nemzetközi tapasztalattal rendelkezik.

Dr. Baka András kiemelkedő életútjának főbb állomásai:
• Kutató jogtudós, egykori egyetemi vendégprofesszor Amerikában, Franciaországban és Németországban
• Az 1990-es első szabad Országgyűlés egykori tagja
• Az Európai Emberi Jogi Bíróság korábbi tagja
• A magyar Legfelsőbb Bíróság egykori elnöke
• A Kúria egykori tanácsvezető bírája
• Az európai jog és az alkotmányozási folyamatok neves szakértője

Magyarország köztársasági elnökeként fő feladata a nemzet egységének képviselete, valamint az államszervezet demokratikus működésének őrzése. Nagykövetségünk bízik a közös értékeken alapuló együttműködés sikeres folytatásában, és elkötelezetten dolgozik Magyarország és Ausztrália partnerségének elmélyítésén. 🤝

🇦🇺 Inauguration of the President of Hungary

Following the decision of the National Assembly, Dr. András Baka has been elected as the new President of Hungary, officially assuming his presidential duties on 19 August 2026. The Embassy extends its formal congratulations to the new Head of State.

The new President is a highly accomplished, internationally recognized legal scholar with decades of distinguished judicial and international experience.

Key milestones of Dr. András Baka’s career:
• A researcher of law, former lecturer at universities in USA, France and Germany
• Former member of the first freely elected Parliament in 1990
• Former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights
• Former President of the Supreme Court of Hungary
• Former chamber President at the Kúria (former Supreme Court of Hungary)
• Renowned expert in European law and constitutional processes

As President of the Republic, his primary role is to embody the unity of the nation and safeguard the democratic functioning of the state. The Embassy looks forward to the successful continuation of the cooperation based on shared values, and remains dedicated to further deepening the partnership between Hungary and Australia. 🤝

🇦🇺🇭🇺 Following their appointment by the President of Hungary, the ministers of the new Hungarian government, led by Prime Minister Péter Magyar, have officially taken their oath of office at the Parliament building. With the ceremony complete, the new cabinet formally commences its mandate to serve the nation.

A new chapter begins!

Particular international attention has been drawn to the appointment of H.E. Orbán Anita as Hungary’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs, while also serving as Deputy Prime Minister. Widely regarded as an experienced strategist in international affairs and diplomacy, she is expected to play a key role in strengthening Hungary’s global partnerships, European and regional cooperation, international representation in the years ahead, while also maintaining close relations with Hungarians living abroad and Hungarian communities across the world.

🇦🇺🇭🇺Following the elections held on April 12, 2026, the new Hungarian Parliament officially convened in Budapest on Saturday, marking the beginning of the new legislative cycle.

During the inaugural session, Péter Magyar, leader of the TISZA Party, was elected as the new Prime Minister of Hungary and subsequently took his oath of office.

In the coming days, the parliamentary hearings of the minister-designates will take place, and the formation of Hungary’s new government is expected by the middle of this week.

“A haza nem kiváltság. A haza közös otthon.” Megalakult az új országgyűlés, hivatalosan is Magyar Péter Magyarország miniszterelnöke!

A következő napokban sor kerül a miniszterjelöltek bizottsági meghallgatásaira, és várhatóan a jövő hét közepén megalakul Magyarország új kormánya.
