ABCB Housing Provisions was one of the most searched topics on our website last month!

The NCC 2025 ABCB Housing Provisions Standard brings together the building and plumbing requirements for houses and associated structures into a single, consolidated set of technical provisions.

It covers key areas including structural safety, fire safety, health and amenity, energy efficiency, weatherproofing, and livable housing. This makes it easier to design and build compliant Class 1 and Class 10 buildings.

πŸ—οΈ Key terms of the National Construction Code (NCC) – Non-combustible

Non-combustible materials and construction play a critical role in fire safety design. In the NCC, the term β€˜Non-combustible’ is applied to:

(a) a material – means not deemed combustible as determined by AS 1530.1 – Combustibility Tests for Materials; or
(b) construction or part of a building – means constructed wholly of materials that are not deemed combustible
