1 in 5 Australian women live with asthma, and women are twice as likely to die from asthma as men.

Pharmacists are highly accessible healthcare professionals who play an important role in helping people with asthma optimise their medicines, improve symptom control, and maintain their quality of life.

Through pharmacist-led, patient-centred interventions, such as counselling, home medicines reviews, and regular follow-up and monitoring, pharmacists can help patients better understand their medicines and ensure correct inhaler technique, leading to greater asthma control.

This National Asthma Week, the PSA is proud to recognise Asthma Australia's campaign, which shines a light on women and asthma.

We acknowledge that asthma affects every individual differently and support Asthma Australia's efforts to elevate women's voices and improve asthma care across all life stages.
