In a major operation today, Federal police, along with their state counterparts, executed 32 search warrants across 3 jurisdictions. 21 clowns have been taken into custody and 75 charges laid so far.
The Prime Minister was quick to praise the police response to information gained from members of the public, stating, "It's time like these that bring the Australion people together to fight a common cause."
280 officers and support staff were involved in the operation, and included tactical response, police air wing and k9 units, as well as intelligence staff, negotiators and criminal profilers.
More charges are expected to be laid, with Parliament set to introduce the "Clowning Act 2016" by the end of the week, giving police more powers against clowns.
