Our twin arts centres, Ainslie + Gorman, host the national capital’s largest collective of professional artists and arts companies a stone’s throw from the city centre. Gorman Arts Centre is where new ideas, new works, and new artists are made and where they rub shoulders with audiences and each other in a bustling, multi-arts environment. At Gorman, we support creative development and excellence

across all art forms – dance, visual arts, theatre, literature and more – and we encourage critical debate about the arts and their power to change the world. At Ainslie Arts Centre, we dedicate everything to music. Through education, rehearsals, and public performances, our music hub unites music-makers and music-lovers in an expansive and exciting program. Diversity and inclusiveness are key, with a strong emphasis on youth and on community music programs. Ainslie + Gorman offer rich opportunities to create, present and enjoy art, to network and collaborate, to teach and learn, and to foster critical discussion and the meeting of creative minds. The masters of storytelling Wright&Grainger are back this month at Canberra Theatre Centre with an exceptional storytelling double bill – HELIOS + SELENE.

The internationally award winning team tell stories from Greek Mythology as if they were happening today. From stolen cars to sun chariots, HELIOS transplants the tale of the god of the sun into a modern-day myth on the winding roads of rural England. Sibling show SELENE is a lunar-lit reimagining of the Goddess and The Darkside of the moon, exploring the light and dark stuff inside all of us.

To celebrate, Canberra Theatre Centre are giving away a double pass to the performance of SELENE on Thursday 21 May at 7pm.

At Rebus, we believe in theatre for cultural change, and to do that we need people.

We are officially inviting artists, producers, and community organizations to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to work with us in the Ralph Wilson Theatre. We’re looking for collaborators who share our vision of fostering empathy and systemic change.

We are seeking partners across two tiers:
1. Co-Presenters: For projects aligned with cultural change and social cohesion.
2. Co-Producers: High-level collaboration for work with national/international potential.

We strongly encourage applications from First Nations artists, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+, and CALD creators. Let’s create intersectional work that brings people together.

- Rolling Monthly Assessments until year-end.
- Arts ACT Applicants: Submit ASAP if you need a decision before the 2 March grant deadline.

Look out! Holiday Workshops are BACK 🔮

Enrolments are now open for our fan-favourite Holiday Workshops. Our first creative journey for 2026 is ... The Elsewhere Project!

Step into a world where the familiar slips sideways and every journey leads somewhere unexpected. Guided by a professional theatre director, participants will explore the in-between spaces of travel — the pauses, crossings, encounters, and moments that shift our sense of where we belong.

Across four inventive days, young artists will collaborate to create an original short performance inspired by movement, connection, and the stories that emerge when we find ourselves somewhere… else. Playful, flexible, and full of possibility, this workshop invites participants to imagine what happens when we journey beyond the edges of the known.

Across four dynamic days, young artists will work together to build an original short performance inspired by gestures, objects, overheard conversations, and the surprising power of imagination. Creative, expansive, and full of unexpected turns, this workshop invites participants to see how something small can become something spectacular.

Being in the original home of the Ngunnawal people, Aunty Serena Williams and the Yukkumbruk Dreaming dancers share their dance and culture with us, grounding the ‘HomeGround’ work.

We are thrilled to have been able to support Somebody's Aunt as they celebrate 20 years with ‘HomeGround’.

Exploring the theme of ‘home’, the work draws on several perspectives including earth as home, connection to country, homelessness, and at home in the body and more. ‘HomeGround’ will showcase the results of two years of creative development.

Being in the original home of the Ngunnawal people, Aunty Serena Williams and the Yukkumbruk Dreaming dancers share their dance and culture with us, grounding the ‘HomeGround’ work.

The Aunts bring 20 years of choreographic practice, playfulness and performance to the process of working with the complex and multilayered subject of home.
