Drop into your local library and join our community colouring and Story Stones activities!

🌿 Contribute to a shared A–Z artwork from Larry Brandy’s book ‘W is for Wiradjuri’

🎨 Learn Wiradjuri words for plants and animals

🪨 Create your own Story Stone using traditional Aboriginal storytelling symbols.

Please note that this activity is appropriate for ages 5 years or older and requires adult supervision.

These hands-on activities are a chance to learn, reflect and connect while celebrating First Nations language, creativity and culture.

This year’s theme, ‘All In,’ is about everyone playing a part.

What a wonderful day of stories, laughter and community! Thank you to all the families, early learning centres, preschools and community members who joined Libraries ACT for National Simultaneous Storytime 2026.

A special thank you to our guest speakers, Library staff, and partners at Australian Library and Information Association for helping make this nationwide celebration so vibrant and memorable.

📖 This year, thousands of children across Australia and New Zealand shared Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller at the very same moment reminding us of the power of stories to connect us all.
