High Commission of Malaysia, Canberra

On 31 August 2026, the High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra in collaboration with Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Tourism Malaysia, Education Malaysia Australia (EMA) and Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) offices in Sydney, jointly-organised a Forum in Sydney entitled "Malaysia: Gateway to ASEAN Growth, Innovation and Sustainable Opportunities". The Forum was attended by participants from the government agency, business community, investors, education institutions and industry players in Australia.

The session was strengthened by the diverse perspectives of panellists from MOHE, MATRADE, Tourism Malaysia and MARA, with MIDA Sydney leading the discussion as moderator.

The participation of both existing investors in Malaysia and potential investors made the discussion particularly meaningful — moving beyond perceptions to real experiences, opportunities and possibilities.

🇲🇾 A productive conversation to showcase a different side of Malaysia — as a destination to invest, grow, innovate and access to ASEAN.

Upacara menaikkan Jalur Gemilang sempena Sambutan Hari Kebangsaan Ke-69 telah diadakan dengan penuh semangat bersama-sama dengan warga Suruhanjaya Tinggi Malaysia, PERWAKILAN Canberra, warga Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM), Association of Malaysian Muslim Families (AMMF), pelajar-pelajar serta diaspora Malaysia.
Upacara ini dimulakan dengan nyanyian Negaraku dan diikuti dengan bacaan ikrar ‘Rukun Negara’ dan nyanyian lagu tema sambutan tahun ini ‘Aku Berjanji‘. PYT Datin Paduka Sharrina Abdullah, Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Malaysia ke Australia telah menyampaikan ucapan sempena Hari Kemerdekaan bagi memperingatkan sejarah Malaysia serta menanamkan jiwa dan nilai kemerdekaan serta perpaduan rakyat. Selain itu, aktiviti-aktiviti bertemakan kemerdekaan telah diadakan untuk anak-anak muda bagi menyemarakkan rasa cinta kepada negara.

Her Excellency Datin Paduka Sharrina Abdullah, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Australia had the honour of calling on The Hon Milton Dick MP, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Parliament of Australia. Both the Speaker and High Commissioner expressed mutual desire to harness Malaysia and Australia's warm bond of friendship towards elevating ties to the next level.

On 4 August 2026, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Australia, Her Excellency Datin Paduka Sharrina Abdullah received a courtesy call from the High Commissioner of India to Australia, His Excellency Mr. Nagesh Singh.

Both Excellencies had a warm and cordial introduction and discussed various issues of mutual interest.
