Big milestone for Australia’s long-range fires capability 🚀🇦🇺

At Port Wakefield, the first Australian assembled Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) rockets have been successfully fired at Woomera Air Weapons Range.

This milestone highlights the strength of Australia’s growing sovereign missile manufacturing capability. From storage and transport to safety, trials design and ex*****on, the JLC Explosive Ordnance team played an important role in enabling the delivery of this capability.

Next target: Increased production of rockets and further firing activities set for 2027.

ANZAC Day 2026 🇦🇺 🌺

As we mark ANZAC Day, we pause to honour the service and sacrifice of all Australians and New Zealanders who have served.

This year marks the 111th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings — a moment that continues to define the spirit of bravery, endurance and mateship carried by generations of servicemen and women, reflecting the enduring values of service, courage, respect, integrity and excellence that continue to guide the Australian Defence Force today.

While history often focuses on those on the front line, every operation has reinforced a fundamental truth: success is underpinned by effective logistics. From Gallipoli to contemporary operations, sustaining the force has always been decisive.

For the Joint Logistics Command workforce, today is also an opportunity to reflect on the vital role logisticians have played, and continue to play, in supporting and enabling operations. Our mission to deliver theatre logistics to the Integrated Force in competition and conflict remains as relevant today as ever.

We recognise the collective contribution of our integrated force; our uniformed members, APS employees and contractors whose dedication, teamwork and respect for one another ensure the ADF remains ready.

Today, we remember those who have served, reflect on the legacy they have entrusted to us, and acknowledge the role we each play in supporting Australia’s defence — past, present and future.

Lest We Forget.

JLU-Victoria recently hosted local students as part of the Clontarf Foundation engagement program.

The Clontarf Foundation supports the education, wellbeing, and future employment opportunities of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. During their visit the students took part in a workshop tour, and learned about career pathways in Defence logistics.

JLC look forward to welcoming these young men back in the years ahead—potentially as future apprentices!

Great to see our movers once again answering the call to serve. 🙏
Here they are supporting the ADF contribution to the DFAT-led humanitarian and disaster relief response to Tropical Cyclone Maila.
It’s inspiring to see the JMU wagon wheel proudly on display as we help our neighbours in their time of need. Once again, our movers are leading the way in the delivery of theatre logistics.💪✈️
