From Former S*x Discrimination Commissioner Kate Jenkins’ insights on building respectful, inclusive workplaces to Professor Sharon Parker’s latest findings on the future of work in mining, it’s been a thought-provoking morning. 🙌
The interactive Hindsight performance from Consulting & Training Australia and New Zealand also brought these meaningful workplace safety conversations to life at the Summit.
We’re looking forward to continuing these important conversations this afternoon.

Minister for Industrial Relations, Simone McGurk MLA has set the tone for today’s important event around psychosocial risks, including mental health, sexual harassment and workplace behaviour and building respectful workplaces in this high-risk industry.

We’re excited to hear from keynote speaker Kate Jenkins and Sharon Parker as they prepare to take the stage later this morning. 🎤

As the wet season nears, the risk of mosquito-borne diseases is rising across northern WA. ⚠️

If you’re working, travelling, or living in these areas, protecting yourself from mosquito bites is essential.

To stay safe:
🦟 avoid being outdoors at dawn and dusk
🦟 wear light-coloured, loose, long clothing
🦟 use repellent (and reapply as directed)
🦟 sleep under mosquito nets or stay in screened spaces away from still water areas

Calling all crowd platform workers - have your say! 📢

If you are a worker or a client who uses crowd platforms to apply or bid for jobs, Safe Work Australia is seeking feedback to help clarify on who is responsible for your health and safety.

Share your insights before this Sunday 24 May 👇

We’re seeking feedback on any gaps in the regulation of crowd platform arrangements under the model WHS Act and potential ways to address these. 📢

Crowd platforms are digital labour platforms that connect workers and clients. We want to address any gaps to ensure crowd platform workers receive the same WHS protections as other workers.👨‍💼🌐👩‍💼

We’ve released a consultation paper outlining the key issues and questions that need to be considered – and we’d like to hear from you. 🫵👍

Read the paper and have your say before Sunday 11:59pm 24 May 2026 via our Consultation Hub: https://bit.ly/4e1o4z0
