From Sunday 6 September, bus routes in the East Cannington area will undergo changes to improve frequency and connections between Cannington Station and Westfield Carousel.

🚌The following routes will undergo changes: Routes 36, 51, 224, 225, 226, 227, 229 and 280. 🚌

Got a stack of clean cardboard that won’t fit in the recycling bin? Don’t let it pile up, drop it off for free at the Ranford Road Resource Recovery and Waste Transfer Station in Canning Vale.

𝘛𝘪𝘱: 𝘍𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘹𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘰, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘢𝘱𝘦.

Update: We’ve had an arborist inspect the tree, and there is a chance it can survive. It is now on a treatment program and fenced off to prevent further damage while it recovers. We believe a pickaxe was used to cause the damage. If anyone has information about what happened or why, we’d appreciate hearing from you.

𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀. A mature Corymbia maculata (VT66919) in our Council park has been deliberately vandalised and is expected to die. At over 50 years old and valued at more than $22,000, this tree has provided generations of shade, habitat and enjoyment for our community.

Council will retain the tree where possible after it dies, pruning the canopy to preserve valuable wildlife habitat.

Mature trees take decades to grow and cannot simply be replaced. Please respect and help protect our community trees for future generations.

This year's Budget has been shaped directly by what you told us through the Living in Canning community survey. You said your priorities are community safety, better roads, well-maintained parks and facilities, welcoming spaces where people can come together and a greater focus on our natural environment. We listened. This Budget delivers on all of them.

"This is a responsible, community-first Budget," Mayor Hall said. "We're maintaining and improving the services people rely on every day, while investing in the kind of city we want to leave for future generations."

✔️That’s a wrap on our Graffiti Removal Incentive Program (GRIP).

Together, we’ve achieved some great results:
✨ 84 applications received
🎨 1,480+ m² of graffiti removed across the district
🏠 50% of graffiti removed was from residential properties, 50% from local businesses.

This initiative was delivered with support from the Department of Justice Criminal Property Confiscation Grants Program, providing financial assistance to residents and local businesses to remove graffiti from their properties. The GRIP complemented the City's existing, ongoing graffiti removal program.

Canning Libraries Books on Wheels Service is designed for eligible residents who are limited in their ability to visit our libraries. Our friendly volunteers deliver books and other library materials straight to your door on a monthly visit.
