🚨IMPORTANT UPDATE - EURIMBULA FIREWARDEN🚨

As of Friday, the 15th of August 2025, I have ceased duties as the Firewarden for Eurimbula District due to a change in personal commitments.

In the meantime, until a new Firewarden is appointed, the Gladstone Area Office will be issuing permits; the following steps will help you through the process.

1. Fill out an application (Scan the attached QR code for a Digital (PDF) version of the application)

2. Notify all adjoining owners/occupiers 72 hours prior to submitting the application.

3. Once all adjoining owners/occupiers have been notified, fill out the required boxes in the application.

4. Draw a mud map of the intended burn area, read the back page and don't forget to sign and date the back page!

5. Submit your application to [email protected]

If you'd like the Eurimbula Brigade to assist with the burn, please get in touch with the First Officer on 0423 464 037.

Further assistance is available if needed by contacting the Gladstone Area Office on:

Do you have vegetation you'd like to remove? Is it bigger than 2 metres in length, width and height? Then you'll need a Fire Permit.

Obtaining a Fire Permit is easy, free and provides you Protection from Liability (Under the Act, if a person complies with the conditions and directions contained within the permit, the person will not incur any liability at common law for any loss, injury or damage caused by the fire, unless it can be shown that the person acted recklessly or maliciously.)

*Having multiple small stacks all add up in size; i.e three stacks/piles 2 metres in length, width and height is equal to 6 metres. If you have this, you'll need a fire permit; otherwise, Anyone found responsible for lighting fires without a permit where one was required can be prosecuted. - https://www.fire.qld.gov.au/safety-education/using-fire-outdoors/lighting-fires-in-queensland

🚨Fire Permit Notice🚨

We're approaching our fire season! While conditions continue to be favourable, now is the perfect time to get your property prepared!

- Clean up around your property by mowing, slashing or burning vegetation to reduce the risk of fire.

- Ensure property entry and exit points are clear from excess and low-hanging vegetation. This may hinder an emergency response if your driveway is overgrown or heavily vegetated.

- Create a Bushfire Prepared Plan in case of a bushfire, outlining what to do and how to act. -> https://www.fire.qld.gov.au/prepare/bushfires
