Today marks the start of National Reconcilation Week. All in, the theme for Reconciliation Week is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.
All students will participate in Reconciliation Week activities throughout the week.
This term, Stage 3 have been learning about the Wave Hill Walk Off, The 1967 Referrendum and the High Court Mabo decision.
Today is the anniversary of the 1967 Referendum. The Referendum sought to change two sections of the Constitution in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 90.77% of Australian voters voted ‘Yes’ to the changes.
The 1967 Referendum has iconic status in Australian history.
